Before packing away in the Fall I discovered a small hole in the center of the BIG streetside screen.  Although small (just a couple of strands) I would like to repair this before it grows.

What methods are best for such a small hole that can be done with minimal impact and not be too apparent (like a big hunk of unsightly patch material)?  Could I just weave something in?  What would be best?

MTNDAVEI don t know the BEST method but here is mine for a tear. I overlapped the pieces ever so slightly and put some clear silicone on the tear, squeezed it flat so the silicone filled in all of the screen holes and held it that way with clothes pins. Mine was torn in an area that has a little strain on it, right next to the zipper and it is holding fine.

PS. The company I work for has a plant in Mointaintop ........ Fairchild Semiconductor.

 MTNDAVEChasd60,

Thanks.  Didn t think of the silicone.  It s a small hole in a non-stress area and sounds like a good splution.

On another note, I know Fairchild well.  Used to be Harris Semiconductor.  I live about a mile away from the plant.  They anounced Friday they are laying off about 1oo people in the 6"  wafer facility and they are others to the 8"  wafer facility at the plant.

 And so it goes.......

MTNDAVEYou could try glueing the ends of the strands back together.  You could try Goop.
