I made a bad turn into a car wash stall and tore off the awning from my Coleman  ( 8ft. box) Taos. The sack or bag has a 9 inch gash and the vinyl strip that anchors the unit to the camper at the edge of the roof is separated from the bag. Also, the awning fabric has a 9 inch gash. Question, can I replace the mounting storage bag and awning material or would it be more economical to replace the entire awning unit?

van castleI would think it would cost less to replace the whole thing.  Buying the bag,  the awning, and the mounting piece as separate parts is almost a whole awning anyway.  The only thing you are not buying is the hardware.  I would call and check on the prices of the parts separately, but even if the parts are less expensive don t forget there will be some work involved in removing the hardware for the old awning and reinstalling it on the new awning.  It may be a lot easier to just replace the awning.

van castleI believe that the awning and the bag along with the mounting strip is stitched together. You may try duck tape for now until you find a better solution. Good luck
