How do you go about adjusting how high the roof goes up?  I know you can adjust it a little some how but not  sure how.  I had a new roof put on my 2001 mesa and it seems like it may be an inch or so to low now.  the tenting is sagging on the sides a little. So i thought i d see about adjusting the hight a little.  If I can.

LovecampingI have the same problem with my 1999 that has a new roof.  I am going to take it back to the dealer after we are done using it this fall and see if they can do anything about it.  With the new roof being lower I am not sure if it can be fixed.[:@]

LovecampingOurs came with a little cable on the side when it is tight then the roof is at the right hight, door fits perfect and no tenting is loose sometimes if anythign I have to lower it a click or two

 LovecampingJpreiser,

We both have replacement roofs for our Coleman trailers.  The point where the tenting attaches to the roof is lower that it is on the original roof, so the tenting is all saggy and baggy.  I have mine up all the way (the crank will not turn) and it isn t tight enough.

LovecampingI had emailed Coleman/Fleetwood about it.  They said it sounds like the cables need adjusted and to talk to the dealer and explain the situation.  So like you Tracy, we too will be taking ours back at the end of the season to see if they can adjust it any.

LovecampingThanks for the info.  I just hope they can do something.  In the wind the tenting flops around and rubs on the lifter arms.  The fact that both of our PUs have the same problem with the roof makes me think they will not be able to do anything about it.

LovecampingWe also have the new roof but have not had problems with sagging.  We did have problems with the door hitches but that was fixed by the dealer.  We love our new roof......of course we will say that until the first hail storm!!!!  Sounds like a dealer adjustment issue as others have said.

How did they fix the door latches?

My latches barely catch the corner of the metal plate that they should be behind.

LovecampingI have a copy of the Coleman/Fleetwood lift system repair manual. It states"  raise the top to full height and measure each corner between the body rail of the trailer and the top assembly where the rubber seal is fastened to the the top assembly."  It also shows a drawing to explain this and as I see it the measurement is from the top of the base side of the aluminum extrusion which runs around the trailer and the bottom edge of the roof itself not the bottom of the rubber seal. For 1996 to present Grand tour elite, Grand Tour, And Destiny 8 1/2 , 10 , and 12  models only. The measurement is 45 1/2"  - 46" . Btw I don t know if this is relevent to the new roof. I hope this makes sense and helps you out, the procedure to make the adjustment dosen t seem to difficult but I do believe you need to be mechanically inclined to do it.  The tools required are a socket wrench set, open-end wrench set, screwdriver, 4 lift support poles (46"  long 2 x 4 s) and 2 2 x 4"  wood blocks, 24 1/2"  long. The manual is 71 pages long but this section is 3 pages, I d be happy to fax a copy of it just e-mail me a fax #.

LovecampingNot sure how they did it ....but since it was still on warranty (our last visit within the warranty time, actually) it was done.   I think they work opposite of each other now, one up and one down, but either way, we now get a full seal.  We used to have to place the left one in a balancing position in the middle to hold by a thread.
