I new if I planned on going camping this weekend it would plan on raining. I am to go to Hagerstown for 6-7 days to see some of the western part of the state. As it stands three day have rain in them. On Sunday only one did... Each day I get closer the rain expands. So if I say no camping will it not rain?

angelsmom10

whitestar505I m sure glad we weren t planning on camping or you could blame us -- every time we ve camped this year, we ve had rain[:@][:@][:@]

whitestar505I believe that the weather man and the state we live in have an agreement.  He promises the state that he will forcast nice weather so that everyone will make plans to do something on the weekends, especially Holidays, and the state will make money on travel related expenses, tourism, whatever.   Then at the last minute, when it s too late to cancel all your plans he tells the truth, it s gonna be lousy and there s nothing you can do about it.

 angelsmom10angelsmom10,

I have bragging rights!!! [;)] If you look at some of my threads in April and May I put out, we were inundated with rain. The only time it did not rain is while we where camping was our New York trip in early July.

whitestar505Whitestar505 you definately have a cloud over your head.

What would it take to get you to camp over here in MN?
It has only rained once in 1 1/2 months.

 My lawn is really brown[:@]

whitestar505Whitestar I hate to burst your bubble about the rain, but  you are not the only one it rains on. [:D]  We have had rain on every trip this year and on all most every trip we have ever gone on.  In June we had a horse manure wash through our AAR when it rained all day.[: (]  My new patio mat had about 1/2 inch of sh$& all over it, and I had to use my brand new broom to clean it up.[:o]  You just have to get used to the rain and enjoy it.  We will be camping in the rain this weekend too.

whitestar505Umm...Bearbait.  If you are in dire need of more laughter, it s supposed to rain here for about 6 days or so, starting tomorrow.  Yes, I m going camping--in my tent in the rain.

whitestar505Setting up a tarp & tent is much easier than setting up the popup when it s pouring. In fact, when not raining it s still easier. So, Jan s way gets my vote.

As for the rain, it s rained EVERY weekend we ve been out this year. We rented a campsite for three months and, until this past weekend, no days on the weekend were clear and only a handful were clear during the week. Where is it all coming from? [:(]

whitestar505

 whitestar505
Now lets face it all, it is not just the rain but every thing that goes with it also. Like dampness, mold mildew thunder and lightening and so on. Don t know about you all, but when it comes to pack up after a rain we clean everything before we closing up the camper. I am sure most of you do. This adds about two hours to teardown.  One thing I really hate is crawling into a bed that feels damp, like the sheets were never dry, you know what I mean anyone?[:@]

Any how we have cancel this weekend camping in the rain. Rather camp with four inch of snow on the ground. After all the camping and rain we have had this year we will survive the weekend at home. Besides all the animals will be out on this Labor Day Holiday. Right.[:D]

whitestar505

 angelsmom10angelsmom10,

No fear, Coleman has been sponsoring a company that has been building trailers for some time now. I am sure they will be putting something out with Coleman s name on it soon...
