We got back from our COTOC trip to Rocky Gap SP, MD.  It was a Great Trip.  Several families ended up backing out of the trip and all I can say is you missed a really good time.

The kids (and adults) all got along and the dogs were well behaved.  Everyone got to the park Friday evening and we helped each other set up, so the work was done in short order.  We were up late Friday night and it was clear and cool.  Nice weather for sleeping.

Saturday we each did our own thing in the morning and them toured the park in the afternoon.  I was surprised they still had swimming in the lake in September.  The park was very nice and had boat rentals along with a golf course.  The thing I liked was the aviaries they had.  There were several types of owls, along with a red tail hawk and a couple of turkey vultures.

Then we went to the C&O canal.  We got there late, but we took a quick look around.

Back at camp we ended up eating late.   It was worth it!  If anyone went away hungry it was their own fault.  We had corn on the cob, fresh green beans, baked new potatoes, tomato stuff, kielbasa with onions, peppers and potatoes, and steak.  For dessert we had fruit pies with whip cream.  Each pie was baked in a pie iron by the person that was going to eat it.  Then the kids got out the Hershey bars and made somores.

Sunday morning we had a group breakfast and again it turned into a feast.

The sun was out and we had a dry weekend, it was a super camping trip.
Good campground, good weather, good food and most important GOOD friends.

 Sunday morning we had

tlhdocI wish I could have gone, it was a beautiful weekend, but even if I had not cancelled, it would have been to late to leave. The Doctor was running an hour behind, then I had to run to my PCP for another referal, so I would not gotten out of town until 5:00 and with it being 5 hours with no traffic, I would have hit Wilmington and Baltimore Rush hours.

They have to do some more minor cutting on me next Monday.
I could have used the moral support at a campout...I am a perfect example of the need for sunscreen. When I was young they had coppertone deep tanning, no sunscreen...being raised in Florida, riding bikes to school and recreation, going to pools and the beach and being fair skinned, I am paying the price. And it is NOT wrinkles...

Note to self: always pack sunscreen in the camper, making sure to slather it on regularly.

tlhdocWe had a wonderful at Rocky Gap, (the DH is calling it Ragweed Gap...ahhh chooo!).  It was a great camping weekend and even more fun with good friends.  The food was good, weather good, campsite was good, all was just good.  Barb, thanks for the campsite, it was great, lots of trees, easy to back into, very large, and our own private path to the bath house.  I will go there again, to the campsite that is.  It is a really nice state park, my new favorite.  Sorry that not all could make it.[8D][8D][8D]
