 Fleetwood Highlander Series: Mrs. Sacto was ready to go home, but I spent a little more time looking at these since they are a new lineup and many of you may not have seen them yet. First impression is that I don t think this lineup is going to be a winner. Like the Starcraft Centennial series, it has high sidewalls, stove/oven, etc., but they don t offer a model with a slideout. The interior feels no more spacious than any other popup, IMO, but it is longer. Neither DW nor I thought the fabric design was great, especially compared with the Centennial series. One real design flaw I noticed was the placement of the microwave. It is situated directly adjacent to the bunk end step. I thought that was odd. If I were looking for a high sidewall popup, my impression is that Starcraft is way ahead of Fleetwood in this regard. Of course, personal preferences vary.
 

 We went the PA show to look at all of the high wall units.  Of the three manufacturers we looked at, I liked the FFT the best - but even that fell well short of making me want to buy one.
 
 My reasons are:

• No slideout
• Destiny roof rather than the GT/GTE roof
• Destiny sheherds pole rather than the GT/GTE pole
• Raw alumimum bed rails rather than the powercoat on the GT/GTE
• Microwave placement was more than strange

 I guess you can see I feel this should be in the GT/GTE series with all the little " stuff"  that comes with the upgrade.

Hey Sacto-When s the next good RV show in the Greater Bay Area ? We tried one a couple of months ago in San Jose.It turned out to be what appeared to be one large dealers plot to attract customers.Not really much to see except his line.We kind of like something similiar to what happens at the Pleasanton RV Show that takes place during the Winter.PS-Good reviews.Thanks.
