The OvermansDid it ever work correctly?  If this is the 1st time you used it, I d take it back to the dealer.

The OvermansThe fact that  all  the outside marker lights and tail lights come on is normal.  It is a Coleman thing and was covered in my owners manual.  (Only happens on the light switch for front storage compartment.)

The abnormal part was your compartment light did not come on.  Would suspect a poorly seated bulb, ground problem to bulb base, bad bulb or a wiring problem from switch to light.

(Good idea sending the little ones in after your items...getting tougher and tougher for me to make that trip!)

I agree 100%.  It is normal for the outside lights to come on and there must be a problem with the trunk bulb/socket/wiring.  I also agree that it is better to send a little one to do the low work.[:D]

Since when?  My 2000 Coleman Bayside (we bought it new) never worked this way.  The switch powers the light in the compartment, and nothing else.  The only way I can get the outside lights on (when unhitched) is to jumper the charge pin to the running light pin on the bargman connector.

The OvermansOur 2001 Bayside has always operated this way....cargo light lights up everything.
No joke and is referred to in manual.

(By the way, very impressed with your collection of Dutch ovens.  Just got our first 12"  and love it.)

The OvermansHad the same problem on my Coleman Utah and found that the bulb in the trunk was loose.  Tightened it and has worked fine since.  BTW:  When I turned the light on the outside running lights also came on.
