whitestar505Gottcha. We don t have one in our pop-up and it never really gets cold enough down here to winterize, so I am no help to you.

 CajunCamperCajunCamper,

Well I know enough to empty the water but, should any anit-freeze be put in it?

tlhdoc

whitestar505I drain the fresh water in the CP and then pump anti-freeze through the system.

 tlhdoctlhdoc,

Have you winterized yet? This year I am bring mine to the dealer to be winterized. Not sure just how to do this pop-up as to my last one. Going to have brakes looked at as well as repack the bearings.

whitestar505We are going to take ours to our dealer too. [:)] Need repacking of the bearings, winterizing, lubing and fixing the sink drain (again)(I know there was another thread on this issue....same stuff!![:@][:@])  Whitestar, thanks for reminding us about the brakes too!![:D][:D].

Yes I did winterize the PU last week.  It is not hard to do the winterizing of the water system.  Just install the bypass hose for the water heater (if you have one).  It takes less than one minute to do.  Pour antifreeze into your empty water tank and then let the pump pull the antifreeze through the water system.  Run the antifreeze out all of the faucets and pour some down each drain.  Remove the anode rod from the water heater to make sure it has drained.  On the city water connection, remove the screen and then gently push on the plunger.   Any water will run out.  I did it when the pump was still turned on and antifreeze came out of the water intake.

I have the bearings repacked and the brakes adjusted each spring.  It is one of the precamping activities that helps me feel like camping season is right around the corner.
