chasd60Well, guess we re on the semi-dark side but still able to be in the light. We just bought this trailer: [link=http://adcache.rvtraderonline.com/3/0/2/56937202.htm]The New One![/link], but, of course, we kept the popup for little trips! LOL

The Sunlines don t have any particle board in them and are solid units with very high re-sale values. This one is complete with all the stuff to keep Peggy happy. What ever happenend to my old tents???

As we can t tow it, the dealer is delivering it next Monday to our reserved for next year campsite. We ll spend the night in it & then shut it down until April. [:(]

Sure wish it was April tomorrow!  [:(][>:][:(]

Gone-Camping

chasd60I was camping at Goose Point COE campground near Martinsville Va this weekend, and it seems my Trail Cruiser was the center stage!!! About every pop-up owner in the campground stopped by for the nickel tour! Then when I tell them where I bought it and how much I paid for it, they get REAL interested. A couple of them said they had paid more for their PU s than I did for the Hybrid. [8D]

chasd60

 chasd60Hey Cliff,
Where did you buy your Trailcruiser?

chasd60I was one of the people that looked at Cliff s Hybrid!  I must say, the DH was certainly lusting over it...I thought it was nice, really nice..I loved the storage space in it, my gosh...all the things you could take!  LOL.. but DH just got me talked into the PU from a tent....I m not ready to do anything more enclosed yet...  But...I d be willing to bet that the couple across from us  that  looked at Cliff s Hybrid have one before next spring!  LOL...They couldn t stop talking about it!  One of the nicest looking hybrids I think I ve seen.

chasd60DW and I spent the afternoon looking at an O3 Bantam and an 04 TrailStar.  Both are 19 footers.

Both had their plus s and minus s but I think the TrailStar has the edge.  Mainly in the shower department and both beds being equal size.

Did talk to a saleman and got an offer.

 Bantam B19  2003   $18638
 Brake Control               100
 Labor                             75
 Sales tax for parts            6
 Documentation Fee         65

 Total                        18884

Less Trade for Mesa    6166   Nada gives the Mesa a range of 3500 to 4300

 Difference                12718

 Any comments?

He is supposed to send me a quote on the 04 Travelstar 19CK

gene, can t you easily tow a 21  Hybrid with your new truck ? I always thought that a 19  would be somewhat restricted in size for two people, just my opinion ......Is the price difference big between the two sizes ?

Gone-Camping

 chasd60Chasd60...

I got the trailer from RVWholesalers.com (Durnell s RV of Lakeview Oh), very good people to work with. They beat CFO by $200, but the real reason I bought from them was the travel distance, Ohio so much closer than Wisconsin (I guess they are just north of Chicago?!?!)

chasd60What do you do if you need service on one of these units? Do you have to drive all the way back up there? They have great prices, but I don t think I could get my sis and bro-in-law to go that far!

chasd60I saw a hybrid while camping in Florida that I really liked.  It had three bunk ends - one on one end, and on the other end two were on the sides rather than on the end.  My problem is (besides that I can t afford one right now, but we re talking future [;)]), it would still be considered " soft side" , so there would still be camping restrictions (like no camping in some areas of bear country).  I just don t know if I could ever let go of my airy pop-up " feel"  and go to a solid hard-side!  I may end up being a hybrid owner some day, after all.  [:)]

Gone-Camping

chasd60From what I understand, not all dealers will work on a unit bought else where, or won t work on it in a timely manner. Guess I m lucky there, the local dealer understands that being a pain in the butt doesn t earn him the next sale, so they are willing to work on an RV " no matter where it was purchased"  (according to signage on thier lot and in their store).

RVWholesalers has set up a network of various places that will work on the RV s if the local dealers for that unit won t. If the local dealer for that particular make won t touch it, they ll help you locate another dealer that will, and pay them to do the repair. Things like a/c, stove, refridge, heaters, toilets, tires etc come with their own warranty and can be dealt with anywhere, just the trailer is supposed to be dealer unique...

chasd60

chasd60The dealer gets paid for warranty work. If he so chooses not to service mine then Trail-Lite will pay to have it serviced by another certified RV dealer. It is really a non-issue. What if you bought it near home then moved? You would still expect to get warranty work done.
