I just got one of the florescent lights from JC Whitney.  It?s 23 inches long and ? inch thick. 13 watts dual bulbs (26 total). It looks like a pretty good light too. $22.99. It looks like it has a built in inverter then appears to be a standard light. Now I?m trying to decide if I want to order another for above the sink, or put Super Velcro on this one and move it around.

  Thoughts?

Does anyone know if the wires behind the valance on a SanteFe are ?hot? all the time? I could just tap into these, and run some runway tubing.

MtnCamperIf I remember tight those are the wires for the ceiling lights so they should be hot anytime the roof is up. They re run through the galley switch.
As an alternative when using a " moving"  light with multiple velcro locations I used a coiled cord and a 1/4 plug that we plugged into the nearer ceiling light fixture.

MtnCamperMike, That s what I m thinking too. I ll just have to wait and see if I like it enough to wire it in, then secure it to the roof.

MtnCamperAre the lights 12volt or 110 volt?

MtnCamperMtnCamper   That is the same exact light I installed over my table in my Coleman. It works great and gives an awsome amount of light aside of the ones that came with the camper. I also got a shorter one and put it over the sink, but it could be a bit brighter. I wish I had enough room over the sink to put the longer one but there isn t enough room between the tracks for the door and the end of the camper for the longer one. Anyhow, what I did to install them in my Avalon was to take a piece of 1/2 inch pine board and cut it to the size of the light. Next I used a 1 1/2 inch hole saw to make a place to connect the wiring from the fixture in ,between the ceiling and the fixture, where the wires exit the flourescent fixture. I then screwed the fixture to the ceiling with screws that only came through the board and fixture by 1/4 inch as to not go through the top of the roof. I then ran surface wiring raceway from the existing fixtures to the new flourescents and connected to the origional wiring. That way I can use either the flourescent fixture or the origional one or even both of them if I want to. I checked the amperage draw of the fixture like the one you have and it is less than that of my origional fixture with one regular bulb.
