Many inquiring minds have been wondering about the status of my camper and I have been so busy due to I was activated in the Air Force and now getting back to civilian life.

As many may know the brakes failed on my camper during the east rally coming from the RJ Ranch and going back to Cincinnati.  The camper was repaired by my selling dealer and the brakes failed again on the way to my home.  To keep the topic short and sweet the failure after the first repair put the family & myself in grave danger thru an intersection.

The dealer repaired the brakes again, then another axle starting leaking hydraulic fluid which indicated a poor repair job.  Jayco took the camper to their factory totally rebuilt the brake system, and many other issues wrong with the camper.

After having the camper for about 2 mos I found out that my roof was warped and eating the aluminum edge of the camper due to rubbing of the roof against the camper, http://community.webshots.com/user/popupsgt
the slide-out not staying in the rest position when traveling, brakes got extremely hot during 45 mile excursion and blew grease from wheels, and problems with the front bunk eating the frame when pulling or pushing the bunk in.

After our last camping date of a Halloween festival we decided to take it to the dealer for the repairs.  After about 2 wks at the dealer, the dealer called me informing that Jayco is giving them the run-around on the repairs and wanting them to use a block of wood and a hammer to straighten the snaked roof.  The dealer informed Jayco that we wanted the camper to return back to the factory for a complete overhaul.  Jayco wanted a letter from me on what my expectations were and the problems that I wanted fixed.

I can tell you Jayco got a very political correct letter with statements from their own website and I also cc'd Ohio's State Attorney General.  After the letter was emailed to the dealer & Jayco, I received a response the very next day, this was amazing due to every other time I emailed them it tooks 2~3wks for a response.

So now the camper is sitting at Jayco and they are not going to start on it until around February of next year.

Letter for those interested.

You're a much nicer guy than me.  If they had told me that I would have to wait in excess of 3 months to get warranty repairs completed I would have been livid.  Good luck, I hope they make good on your repairs.

Corey I am glad to hear that you are OK.  Sorry your PU is still having problems. :)

Sorry to hear that you are still having problems with the camper. Waiting till February to fix it Does the lemon law apply to campers ???? You paid money to use it, not to park it at their factory  :(  Good luck with it, I hope they replace it !

Unfortunately, it seems that every state that does have a lemon law, excludes campers from the lemon law.  Most lemon law policies are designated for motor vehicles... a vehicle that is self propelled.  Even most motor homes are excluded even though they are self propelled.  Anything that is used as living quarters is typically not covered.

I'm with mike; you're a WHOLE lot nicer then I would have been. 3 months is ridiculous. I'd be all over them, like flies on a tur... waste product. :J

Heck, at this point I'd be telling them to give me a new one. That one sounds like it might be problematic for a long time.

Good luck.
