We exchange names among the adults, I got my brother's name and in the place where you can write in any thing specific was the word camper.  Well, in the 20 to 25 dollar range not much of a camper can be had.

I searched high and low for a camper toy, model, or whatever, but none where found.  Even called all camping dealerships within a 50 mile radius to ask if they had anything in their store, but the answer was no.

So I improvised.  I used a small kids white shoe box and an old camper info booklet.  He wanted a travel trailer with a front kitchen, slide in the sofa area and a rear bedroom with a slide.  Could not believe my luck, found one just like he wanted and even gave the option of a king size bed.

I cut out the trailer from the front cover and glued it to the top of the box, and cut out the floorplan and glued it to the bottom of the inside of the box.  Then stuffed it with tissue wrapping paper, and stuck the envelope with money in it to the inside of the top.  Wrote inside the card that since I couldn't give him the camper of his dreams, here was something to start the down payment.

He really liked it and has even kept the box.  Just thought I would share what fun we had.

Hmmmm, I bet there is a market for model campers just like model cars.  I know when my son was wanting a BMW I gave him one for Christmas.....the model, that is.;)

Sometimes you can find camper models on E-Bay, matchbox website, or Toys-R-Us. I found several last year in those places.
Should have asked us earlier. Hmmm maybe it is not too late. Retro gift ;)

Found two on Ebay but they were $15 or $37 without shipping, didn't want to go that way so I went the free way and just gave him all the money.  Also went to matchbox and Toys-R-Us websites, but came up with nothing.  Also checked Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop websites.

I'm slow anyway, we draw names at Thanksgiving and it takes me a while to figure out what to do on things like this.

I have seen toy trailers in the stores at campgrounds. :)
