I was at Sam's Club yesterday and they had the big (70 qt. I think?) Coleman Xtreme cooler for a cool $22.  That's a great price, and almost 1/2 what we paid last summer.  Just wanted to let you know in time to ask Santa for it this year!

I'll stick with my 48 qt Igloo Ultra Cold, the kind that keeps ice in 90 degress for 5 days.  I wouldn't be able to lift a filled cooler any larger.  Great buy for those who can manage a larger cooler, though.

The Coleman Extreme coolers also keep the ice for 5 days in 90 degree heat. :)

You're right, I must have! Great minds think alike.:p

Also, as to the weight, DH and I work together on getting it where we need it to go.  I can't manage it and he's got a fragile back.  But we tend to use it for the ice and the stuff we won't be getting in and out.  It works optimally with the lid being closed as much as possible.  We still use another smaller cooler for our juice boxes and big tea jug, etc.  We used ours the first time in Lake Tahoe in July and were very impressed with how much ice it kept after a week in a hot metal bear box.

We keep one cooler in the TV and if we are on a long trip we keep a second one in the PU, unless in bear country.  The one in the car gets the high heat, but the ice still last much longer than in a regular cooler. :)

Thanks for the info.  We went out and bought one yesterday.  We won't be able to lift it either once it is full but will leave it in the truck with the smaller one.  That seems to be the most convenient thing for us to do anyway especially since we seem to camp in places with bear precautions.
