One year my mom got this awful looking sweater at a dollar store.  For weeks we told my sister about the great gift I got for her, this sweater was the ugliest thing ever made so when she finally opened it the look on her face was priceless.  She looked at it and just said OK? the entire family burst out in laughter it was great!

My kids have received lots of noisy toys through the years and have enjoyed them all (guess we're just nuts). I don't allow the noisy ones in the car, however. A couple years ago, my MIL gave my kids her piano. That was one of the nicest things she could have done. She wanted it to stay in the family and knew our kids would enjoy it and not destroy it. My son is asking for a drum pad and we're happy to oblige since we're getting tired of him drumming on the table. We also have flutes, keyboard and a clarinet here so what's one more noisy thing.

I must admit that the "noise" from video games tends to drive me crazy. Luckily, my kids don't play much. My DD is more apt to play computer games and she usually puts earphones on so she doesn't disturb others.

your story cracked me up too, but only because I can relate TOO well!  Sometimes I worry my head will explode from all the electronic toys we recieve!
