I got my credit union statement on Saturday. I saw that for the first time, what I stilled owed them on the Bantam was less than what was in my savings...I made the call today and it is now paid off.

This was actually mine anyway since the credit union I deal with does not do used RV loans and I had to go for the higher personal loan. But it is paid off almost a year ahead of time... Last spring I paid off the Corolla about a year ahead of time. Keep it up and I will have Raymond's truck paid off in a year or so (he would like that).

That's a great feeling.  Just don't rush out and get something else now that it's paid off!

Our camper has been paid off a long time... well, it is old now.  Still love it.

My truck gets paid off next year, yeeha!

Isn't that just the greatest feeling!?  We pay off my husband's snowmobile next month.  WOO-HOO!

Both the TV & camper are paid off :S and now the wife is talking about getting something different

I can sure relate to what you're saying.   One of the best feelings I can think of is the self satisfaction that comes with taking the final steps towards making something actually happen.   DH and I struggled just like the rest of you for our home, vehicles, camper, etc.   We also found that little bit of land up north, and begged and bargained with the land company to get the lowest down payment and cheapest monthly payments they would allow.   Altho it took us longer in the overall to pay it off, we never had to worry about what would happen if we went thru bad times.   We just kept paying, and eventually it belonged to us.   The same with our home, and it seemed very strange to be driving a vehicle that didn't have the name of a bank or credit union on the title next to ours.   When we bought our camper, we actually had the money in the bank to pay cash for it, since we weren't making any payments on anything else anymore.   We did check to see if we would lose more in interest by withdrawing the cash, or by taking out a loan, but we weren't losing by paying for it all at once.   Sometimes I think back to when all the kids were still home, growing up, and how hard things sometimes were.   It didn't seem like we would ever get ahead.   My DH is the kind of guy who always said, "If we can't pay for it, we don't need it!"   So, a lot of things were put on hold til the money was saved up and we could walk into the store and plunk down the cash.   Washers, dryers, small appliances, etc. were luxuries, not  entitlements.   We must have been the last on our block to get a color TV, and I used an old wringer style washing machine for ages, just because it still worked good.    One day, we looked at each other and said, "Hey, we don't owe any money to anyone!!"   We had always said that someday we would get the house we always wanted (the house we bought was the only one that was shown to us in our price range when we were home shopping, and we never did really like it.)  Now, the kids are gone, every thing is payed for, why would we want to get back into another mortgage??!!     So, congrats to you, for making some good decisions and being responsible with your money and your future.

congratulations, Paula! GOOD FOR YOU!!! Like Toni said, there is nothing much more satisfying than  knowing something is ALL YOURS!  My car is now 7 years old, Billy's is six, and  while new cars are always "interesting", ours run fine, were exactly what we wanted when we bought them, continue to meet our needs wonderfully well,  and  they belong to US, not a loan company.  so we are in no hurry to replace them.

Congratulations Paula.  Isn't that a good feeling.  For my Nevada  I took out a 6 year loan and paid it off in less than 3 years. :)   I really like the idea of the Highlander series, but not the thought of the payment. :)

That's a great feeling. I paid off my truck 2 years ahead of time.

Now all I have to do is pay off my diploma ($76K), and we only owe on the house!

Good job on the money management! Having the extra bucks for camping each month just means more opportunities. Hmmm, care to pay-off my camper too? (just kidding...:D )

We owe nothing  :(  The bank owes everything ...... Oh well, we still get to use them  :p
