I am thinking about becoming a certified part-time massage therapist.  I have no formal trainning outside of text books etc...  and have given a number of massages to wife and friends and have really enjoyed the experience.  I am thinking about taking a 500 hour course to become certified.  I am NOT giving up my day job (chemist) but wonder what the job market is like for a part-time massage therapist.  Anyone out there with experience in this area or have any comments?? I am not doing this for the money, I just enjoy giving massages. Thanks!

Hmmmm...I wish I could help you.

But could you forward me your 2004 camping schedule with locations, dates and times?  :J

Larry,
Believe it or not but we have taken my portable massage table along camping a couple of times.

I'd think you'd want to be certified, would make customers feel more assured that you are well trained.  I know I called a massage therapist here after I hurt my neck, and they charged $85 a visit...cash...no insurance.  I went to PT instead which did take insurance and they charge $165 visit!!!!   By the way the one that charged 85 had a 3 week wait list!!!   Looks like a good business to me for sure!
