Screenroom instead of AAR

I love the AAR we have for the popup. Except for overnight stays, it's always a part of our setup. Now, with the TT and a permanent campsite comes the decision. Buy a 21' AAR for the trailer or save some $$ and get a screenroom.

After this past humid, wet, mildew and skeeter infested summer, I decided to buy an inexpensive screenroom for the site rather than have an AAR get destroyed by being permanently erected. Hey, I went through enough of the PopUPTimes awning cleaner, on our AAR, to fill the stream at the foot of our site. As I won't be able to tow the trailer for a year or two, I needed something that could just stay up without my needing to worry about it.

Now, how many screenrooms can you buy for the price of one 21' AAR? How about 11? Yep, we bought one from Walmart for the unheard of price of $58.83! (I had considered getting it earlier, but needed to wait for my lil sis Toni to be happy with hers).

12' x 14' and cheap enough that if needed we can add a second one yielding a screened in area of 14' x 24'. That should keep the skeeters at bay this summer while giving us a place near the trailer to sit during the day and night. It will be located outside the livingroom door. We'll hang some white tarps by shower hooks, on the interior poles, to provide moveable privacy panels.

Now that I've got mine, you can see it by clicking HERE.

That's a good looking screen room and reasonably priced, too. (One thing about it, though, I didn't recognize any of those people in that photo. Ahem, and it doesn't look like they have eaten, either. :D ;) )  It seems that I remember that suezque had modified one of those screen rooms to fit up against her camper and she made privacy panels for it.

And, you didn't mention, lil bro, that when I got mine they were on sale and I paid only $39.00. Hahahahaha!!! But I plan to do the same thing Al is going to do, hang something, tarps most likely, from the inside for privacy. I love our AAR too, but when it's attached to the camper, and only 10'x about 8', and all the stuff that gets put in it is there, it becomes too crowded for just relaxing in. I tend to use it as the kitchen, with the outside stove in it. So, this screen tent can either take the place of the "living room/dining room" or become the kitchen. One thought that I have (just kind of brainstorming) is to maybe just hang the side panels to the AAR on the awning, and butt the screen tent up as close to the front of it as possible and leave the flap on the screen room open and maybe somehow wrap it around the front of the AAR.  Can you see my vision of this?   That way I'll have a bigger space, and it will all be connected to the camper. (if it works, that is.) Of course, this would work best when we are camping someplace we intend to stay for a time, I wouldn't want to go thru all this trouble for a weekend trip. TC, do ya think that would work?
