With these extreme cold winters, I feel bad for those of you that live up north and a little guilty that I live in a place that has very mild winters.
Since it doesn't snow here (oh, maybe a little.. every 12 years or so...) I was wondering if anyone takes pictures of their little campers frozen with ice and snow. Can you even see your campers? or Do you keep it warm and safe in a garage? With the camper closed up, does the weight of snow or ice hurt the top?
Just curious.....
Please stay warm and be safe!

Ours stays toasty in our garage!!

My poor baby is in a storage lot more than likely covered with snow and ice ...as everything else is around here.  We're planning on checking on it this weekend if we can even drive back to where it is....  :(

It's sitting under cover out on the farm.  It will be popped up when the ice has melted and by this weekend I intend to take some pics.  Lots of folks are wanting to look at it and maybe purchase for the camping season ahead.

Ours is outside under 14 inches of snow.  It has snow plowed up around it.  It will eventually melt...  Winds yesterday and other times this winter have been over 50 and 60 mph, and snow drifted our lane almost shut - that usually happens about once a winter.

I have busted the snow plow on the tractor in one form or another just about every winter.  And drifting snow is the worst because there is nowhere to move it.

As far as safe, the camper is up on jack stands, so there is no load on the axles or tires.

1999 to 2002 my PU sat in the driveway year round.  Last winter a neighbor offered the use of their garage.  So this year and last year it is indoors :) , but still in the cold.  No more shoveling the roof off. :p

I've camped in snow, but it wasn't the extreme cold those guys are seeing lately.  I've lived in N. Michigan and England, so I can appreciate their situation and the term "cabin fever".

You know if they were as tough as us Southerners, they'd be camping anyway...  http://2manytoyz.com/camp/camp2/snow.jpg

Aw shucks, how am I going to level up that popup in all that snow.  Yes, some people  camp in the snow.

This was taken last winter...although it's looked like this a few times this winter:

Fortunately, we haven't gotten the really heavy snow and ice that everyone around us seems to be getting.

Ours is sitting under the snow also, but with a split lip.

The panel behind the trunk lid split one cold evening when I was opening the trunk lid before heading out. A sweet gum ball had fallen in between and put a wedge in between the trunk lid and panel. The panel gave way with a nice CRACK. It will cost around $600 to replace it.

Changed my avatar just for this thread!  That pic was taken about a year ago ... looks about the same now ~ not quite as much snow on her!

btw ~ starryart ... my parents made it safe and sound all the way to Mission, TX.  Thanks for the CG information.  I think they are so happy to be out of MN right now that it wouldn't matter where they parked their rig!!

I get to look at mine every day going to and coming from work. She's sitting high and dry, and I snow-blow around her so I can sweep her off.:D

It is interesting to hear how everyone takes care of campers in different climates. Thanks for the info! I'll pray that your Spring weather comes soon and you can all go camping once again! :)
