Today I got a new TV.  With the five of us, it was crowded in the Blazer especially in the back seat with two car seats.  We are now the proud owners of a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Conversion van.  Love the room, but not the gas mileage.  The GVWR is 7000, but it does not have the tow package on it.  Now I can put the Blazer up for sale.

The kids are more excited than we are.  I'm just so glad to get a newer vehicle.  Seems like several people are getting new or newer TV's lately, must be in the air.:)

Enjoy that new to you TV.  Yes, lots of people trading up or getting new ones.  Lots of people getting new campers too and getting ready for the season ahead.  You'll love the van....I had an astro once and loved it.

So, is your Niagara still up for sale, or are you gonna get to keep it now? I hope you can keep it, now that you have a bigger TV, more room!

Yes, it is still up for sale.  The TV was a must have due to the fact that the other one was falling apart.  May be we can keep it, will just have to wait and see.

We had a 92' 250 Ram Van that we drove to the ground.  We bought it with 30,000 miles and drover it for 10 years.

Like all vehicles, they have their issues but we enjoyed it.  What we learned right away was they do go through passenger tires, which is what they came with (Michelins) and we found that by buying a good solid (and unfancy) truck tire ,we got much superior wear, handling and stability.

People complain about the transmissions but we had no problems.  after 200,000 miles.  Everybody has told us we were lucky but we talked to others with the same experience.

We got rid of it only after hearing a main bearing getting ready to go.

We would use sand bags in the winter to handle the snow with no problem.

Best of luck with your "new" van!  "New to us" is all we buy.

In my latest Popular Mechanics magazine they listed a new 2004 1/2 Dodge Ram 3500 with a new Cummings Engine. It has 325 hp and 600 ftlb of tourqe with a factory installed exhaust brake!!!! It has a towing capacity of about 16,250 lbs. and 5,220 lb cargo capacity. The magazine tested it in the mountains outside of LA with a 13,000 trailer and they were passing other vehicles on the road.

"New to us" is our new way to go also.  It cost way to much to buy new.  We would like to get a hybrid or TT, but it would have to be used also.  That will be a year or so down the road, but I still love window shopping and dreaming.:)

My dh is known for looking at something for years "or dreaming" before we actually buy.  He had been looking at the Ford chateau before we bought the Ram van.  Now we finally have one that we got on e-bay.....
