Do you take a TV (television) camping?

We NEVER brought one, I was set against it, and then two more little ones came along.  Now these little ones are precious, but they are also quite strong willed, and have extra baggage that the two kids we gave birth to didn't have.  We have lots of crying in the campsite during the day while we learn that we can't have everything our way.  I hate that they disturbe people, but refuse to stop camping which we love as a family, because the two little ones are difficult.  After all, how am I teach them to behave even when camping, if we don't go camping?

Our normal nightime routine is bathtime, and then snuggle on the couch with mom, and watch something animated.  In light of campers camping around us, I decided we would take along the 13" TV and DVD player, so that bedtime would be our normal routine.  Now after we return from the bathhouse, its snuggle time with mom on the couch in front of the little TV, and they are out in 10-15 minutes.  No crying, and complaining, and the neighbors get a break by not having to listen to one more battle because I tried to change how we go to sleep.

Once they are older, I anticipate the TV not going.  The older kids tend to spend more time than I like sneaking into the camper to watch TV, so this time there is a ban, unless a toddler is in there watching with you, its off.  There are tons of other things to do.

I'm sorry but these pop-up things are really cool but a tv is really more for the motor home type that live in  them the majority of the year.  A t.v. in a pop-up???? we are still in it for the camping right

Only when rainy weather is forecast, and then we limit the time that they watch it. We may also bring a VCR, because reception may not be the best where we are.

If rainy weather is forecast, I prefer to sit under the awning, next to the fire, with a cold one....:!

C'mon camping season!:D
