Hello all!

Well I told everyone we'd be heading to this KOA before the official rally and this was the weekend that worked out for us.  Copcargirl got that Friday off and I got that Sunday off - so we have 3 whole days to spend there!  :D  I am not sure of what site number we have, as I reserved through the KOA website and they have "up to 48 hours to respond"...  I'll post more as we know.  Is anyone else interested in that weekend??

tlhdoc

I had picked that Friday as a vacation day, but  :(  the Boy Scouts have a Spaghetti dinner on the 6th and DS has to work the dinner, so we will not be there.  If you want to come and support him and his troop, he will serve you dinner Saturday night. :)

copcarguy

Hey all!

Just thought I'd bump this to the top to see if anyone is interested in a last minute get together.  Tracy - how far would the trip be for this dinner??

tlhdoc

I think too far.  One and a half to two hours. :(

MTNDAVE

PU not ready yet so I won't be campin' ........:(

But still gonna try to make a day trip to hook up with you. :W Lookin like Saturday (Sunday if FIL day).

No rain - Explore and if it rains there is always Cabela's !!! :D
I'll be talkin at you this week / maybe tonite.

HersheyGirl

Hey Rick,   Can we come and see you Friday night and sit around your hot, campfire and watch the grill melt?  What time will you be arriving at the campground?  :)

copcarguy

Sure thing Beckie! I wasn't planning on melting anything at this new KOA - I don't want to give us COTOC-ians a bad reputation...

I think we are planning to leave our house at 10 or 11-ish, so we should be there by 1pm or so. Not sure how long it'll take us to make the trip.

On a serious note, I am beginning to think my fires are legendary or something in our little group. What do you all say about my fires behind my back?? This is like the third or fourth time I have read about a "Rick fire"... ;) :D

tlhdoc

Well lets see, you had the "fire" at Eagles Peak that the CG came to investigate, melting the grill on the fire ring several times a year at North-South Lake, and now people are encouraging you to melt the grill at the new KOA?  Na, no one talks about your fires. :D   Now if you want to be smoked out of the campsite let Dr./Mr. HersheyGirl  work on your fire.  He will have it smoking in no time.  We do talk about his smokey fries behind his back :Z , and in front of him too.  :D

Have a great trip!  I wish we didn't have the spag. dinner and could come and join you. :)   Check out my site for April and let me know if I should move. :D

HersheyGirl

Went and saw copcarguy and girl yesterday afternoon.  Not a great day for camping, but hey, the wind was not blowing and it was not raining and they were camping!  Wish that I could have stayed longer and enjoyed one of Rick's fires.  Guess the plan for them today is to go to Cabela's for the afternoon.  What a great store and so much fun to look around.  That is a perfect activity to do on a day like today, as it is cool and dreary, and rain off and on all day.
Have fun guys!  It was great to see you again.  Stephie's cookies are the BEST!  They rock....lol:D

Hey all!

Beckie - it was so nice to visit with you...  We usually don't get to hang out with you much at COTOC events, so it was nice to be greedy and have you all to ourselves...  :p  Friday night / Saturday morning was rainy and cold, but then it cleared up nicely for the remainder of the trip.  This was great as it dried off the PU.  We wish you could've stayed for dinner.  I hope your Cobra saved you on the way home.  ;) :D

MTNDAVE - We got your email and were kinda bummed we didn't see you guys.   Hope you're feeling better.  We waited around for you till 2pm, left you a note on a paper plate, and then headed off to Cabela's. You were 10000% right - What a cool store!  It was really packed and we had to walk sideways sometimes to get past all the people.  We ended up really watching what we got and managed to resist all the cool stuff and spent under $25.00!!  I found a handheld CB (brand new in the box!) in the bargain section for $9, we of course got a Cabela's t-shirt ($4.99 "Promo Special" according to the price tag), a Cabela's "Grizzly Bear" chocolate bar, and something else I don't remember...  Of course I saw some stuff I HAD to have (but didn't buy) because I wanted copcargirl to talk to me on the 200 mile ride home.  :D  I clocked the miles from the KOA parking lot to my driveway and it was 199.7 miles.  Whew!

Well we are looking forward to the April COTOC trip...  I scoped out our sites and we're all on a little hill all to ourselves.  See you all soon!
