Well hooray my DH got a nice new job.  The job he got several months ago turned out to be miserable...nothing promised ever came about and it hasn't been a pleasant place to be.  Today he went back to the office to quit and NO ONE was there!!  No boss, no employees, no anybody!!  Maybe the surprise is on him and they closed up shop!! LOL   Imagine being psyched up to give your notice and find out there's no one around to give it to!!!  Oh well he'll have to wait till Monday!

We'll find out tomorrow!!  DH is anxious to get out to work tomorrow to see whose around.  His Boss is the kind of vengeful type and takes it personally when folks quit so he usually tells them to leave the day they give their notice!! DH doesn't care as it just means he can start the new job earlier!!!!

Don't know where everyone was on Friday!!  Last week about five employees called in....mini version of a sickout!  It's not a good work environment, so glad he is able to leave it behind!!!!!

So hubby said "well we'll know tomorrow how he (the boss) takes it if I'm home really early!!!!!!"

It almost was Florida!!!  Sent resumes to a couple of companies!!!  The past few weeks we've felt that desperation of "what are we going to do" because DH was so unhappy with work here.  I hooked up with a Realtor from the Tampa Bay area as we decided if we went it would be down near where my folks lived.  Found out a very good friend just built a home down in Hernando!  So she's really working on me to move there.  Said it was the best thing she and her family had ever done.  They love it!!  I even called the schools to see what we'd need to do to register the kids and my gosh...the houses...oh the beautiful houses down there!!! For the older houses we pay big money for here to those beautiful new homes in gorgeous developments down there for half the money!!  It's still very much on our minds.  Hubby is going to see how the new job goes and if financially we can get back on even ground.  Even the kids were starting to talk about moving down to FL!!!

Congratulations on the new job!  What a treat to be able  (in a POLITE way OF COURSE) to tell a bad boss to "stick it."

Remember: "Living well is the best revenge" :)

And if the new job isnt as rewarding as you hope, there are  always the warm breezes and  golden sands of The Sunshine State awaiting you :S

Ah well the giving the notice didn't go so smoothly!!  DH got to work early on Monday and everyone was looking at him because they knew something was up as he usually just goes out to the jobsite.  When the boss showed up DH asked  him if he had a few minutes to talk.  Guy said sure.  DH went in and told him he'd been given an opportunity with a larger company and that he was giving his two weeks notice.  Guy got upset and took it personal as DH said he probably would!  DH was nice just the same and said he'd give him two weeks so help them catch up on projects and the boss made some wise crack and DH said fine, if that's your attitude then it's one week.  Boss made the mistake of saying "whatever"...so DH stood up and said, your loss pal, I offered to make things easier and stick around for 2 weeks while you hire someone else, but I don't need your cr*p, so how about no notice as I have a nice new job to go to instead.  With that DH turned in his cell phone and gas card and said "see ya"!!!  One of the other guys followed him out and handed him his business card and said if there are any other openings where you are going...can you give them my name!!

Great mgmnt skills this owner has...he burns through employees pretty quickly as he could care less.  Here he could have had DH stick around to complete a project and instead choose to be a wiseguy and will now be a jerk to the rest of the guys trying to make them work overtime to get the project finished without DH being there.

So DH is enjoying a week at home and on Monday starts the new job!!
