Set up the Table as a bed for the first time... Worked out nice till someone sat in the middle of the bed and it snapped the table top (press board)...

I thought maybe I had the cousins lined up wrong. But they wouldn't fit any other way...

To fix it ... I went to the hardware store bought a 1 inch alumunum channel - and screwed it to the bottom - filled the split with Silicon and it seems good... wouldn't trust it for a bed but I am back in action...

Anyone else have this happen?

When I get home, I'll take a piece of nice wood - and remake the top - and support it with aluminum channels...  and use the legs from this table...

That's a first I've heard of that happening.  The wife and I have both stood on ours when getting the camper ready for closing up.

If ours dies, I'll make a new one from cabinet grade plywood (no voids, no knots), and skin it with laminate.  I already plan on replacing the wood near the sink.  I'll upgrade the sink and faucet, and remove the useless stove.

Good luck on your project.  Shouldn't be too tough to replace since you can reuse the hardware.

I never heard of a table breaking like that.  I have stood on mine when setting up the PU and haven't had a problem.  I think I would build a new one instead of trying to replace the one you have.

Nor have I heard of that happening either.  I weigh 225 and I am on it a lot.

We had the same thing happen to our table.  Ours was still under warranty so we ordered a new one.  I took a piece of 3/4 inch plywood and cut it out for an interim bed.
