Hi everyone. For the addicted her at PUT you may already know that I'm moving this summer (actually on the 12th of July), to Wainwright Alberta. I have my house up for sale, and it is listed on the Canadian MLS (Multiple Listing Service) realty web site. Here is my listing:

Do the States have something similar? If not... is there a way you can look at homes and make a selection to buy before getting to the new destination. Just wondering...  as I sit here contemplating the sale of the house I THOUGHT I was going to retire in...

vjm1639... Thanks for the compliment on the house. :) We put a lot into it the past few years, (been here since '97) including FinAll Aluminum Super Roof, Oak Hardwood floors, Laminate floors, Carpeting, New Air-tight wood stove, Ceramic Tile, Linoleum Floors in all 3 bathrooms and laundry room and new paint on every wall and ceiling in the house in the past six months.  I'm gonna miss this house.:(

Thanks Mowalkwer for the quick response.  I kinda thought there would be a comparable system for real estate south of the border.

I can't understand why your Realtor has not asked you if you need to be referred to another Realtor in your destination city?  Perhaps she does not know anyone there but she can search the resources available to her to find someone for you who has experitise and who has experience.  The destination Realtor will assess your needs and then email listings sheets to you for your consideration in advance of your arrival.  That way you can make maximum use of your time when you do arrive.  You could also type in your destination city in your browser address bar and see what comes up for that area.  Usually you would type something like:  Alberta, Canada Real Estate   or Real Estate in Albert, Cananda  or whatever city you want to be in.  That's just an example.  I wish I were your Realtor and could make your move the easiest you have ever had.

Realtor.com is a good site to go to for US MLS or you can type in Realtors and the town and state you are interested in and most realtors have their own websites that you can sign up for MLS listings in the area you are interested in.

As a Military Nurse, a realtor will be made available to me on arrival for a house hunting trip (HHT) which we plan to take as soon as we have a firm offer on this one.  The sign just went up on Wednesday... so I don't expect it will sell imeadiately, but that would be nice.  We have already been actively researching the listings in that area... and are finding the nice ones so far, are being snapped up before I get a chance to fly out there.

I'm sure there will be something left when I get there... I'm just anxious to get the ball rolling.  Thanks for the offer to be our realtor.  Much appreciated.
