Looking for a nice wooded Family camp ground near Niagra Falls. Ive found some in Canada but I dont want the boarder crossing problems and I havent been able to get thru on certain web sites.

We're going out that way in August and will be staying at a NYS park called Four Mile Creek Campground. It has electric but not water hook ups. I am assuming it will be a bit of a drive to the falls.

We didn't look into any private cgs.

We stayed at Letchworth SP, NY last year and went to the falls from there.  It was about 2 hours away, but a very nice park. :)

I just made reservations for Four Mile Creek also. Will be there 6/13. Ive heard its nice, and just a big "hop" to the falls.

I stayed at Four Mile Creek last summer. Sights are not extremely wooded but most sites have some shade. There are about a dozen sites that sit on a bluff overlooking Lake Ontario. You can sit and watch your camp fire and see ships passing. Very cool. It is about fifteen minutes from the falls. Your campground pass gets you free admission on the US side park. You can also visit another SP (Fort Niagara) about 5 minutes from the the camp ground that has a public pool. We didn't find out about this until we left but it would be great on a nice hot summer day. Enjoy.
