The last few days we've had highs in the 50's and 60's...a little damp, but pleasant. Popped the camper up during a break in the rain yesterday, flushed the antifreeze out of the water system, and hooked the water heater back up. Tomorrow evening, I'm planning to pack it up, pop it down, and get ready to head for the race at Martinsville...and the weather forecast for tonight is calling for AN INCH OF SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!   Sheesh! (And by Thursday, the highs are supposed to be back up in the 60's and in the 70's by the weekend. Hey, if you don't like the weather around here, wait a few minutes--it'll change!   )

At least the forecast for Martinsville is a little better--no white stuff in the forecast for there. Last time I checked, it said Friday would be mostly sunny, around 70; Saturday, mostly sunny, mid-70's; Sunday, mostly sunny, upper 70's! Gotta pack the sunscreen! (But I'll throw in a light jacket or sweatshirt; night time temps will be in the 40's and 50's.)

I always love the drive to Martinsville this time of year. It's a beautiful part of Virginia. ('Course I tend to think just about all of Virginia is beautiful!  ;) ) The road crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway at one point. The mountains are starting to turn green around the edges, the redbud trees, apple trees, peach trees, etc., are in bloom, the dogwoods are starting to peek out, and the forsythia and quince bushes are gorgeous!

I love springtime.   :) (Even if the weather is freaky sometimes.)

We have a garage door opener too...... a right arm or a left arm. Ha-Ha!!
It has been raining here for now 3 days... I think I will have to upgrade from the Pu to a boat!!

We also had rain the last two days, har drain as well. I hated it ! The weather is taking its sweet time  warming up for sure, I don't really mind tha rain too much, I want HEAT !!!! I WANT SUN !!!!

We were also thinking that we would manage without the garage door opener, but the door is oversized (1.5 car garage) and neither DW or the children can open it. When I saw a Door opener 100 bucks off at Sears, I couldn't stop myself. Now that we can park one car in the garage, It will come very handy ....

Yep..HOPEFULLY, we'll have a nice weekend here in Virginia! We're headed toward the east coast of VA this weekend to camp for our second trip out. We're taking a three day weekend and will hopefully get it all de-winterized while we are there.  We can't do it in the lot we store it in, so figured the place we're going has water and sewer connection so we can just drain it and clean it there.  I'm sooooo ready for decent weather.  The weather reporter this morning said we've only had three days so far in April that it hasn't rained.  It's been cold, nasty, gray, and rainy for so long.  I need a nice long weekend in the warm sunshine!!! My DH, the pooch, the PU, a campfire, daytime sunshine, possible fishing, our new PUT Magazine, a good book, and a bottle of wine...what more could I possibly need?    :)

It sounds beautful!  We lived in Norfolk for a few years and it was pretty in the spring.

We moved here to FL from CT last August. A couple things that I sure do miss are the springtime bulb like the crocus, tulips and daffodils and until I had read your post I hadn't even thought of the forsythia.  I LOVE forsythia and it's one of the plants that I miss most down here.

labontefan, I am sitting here under bright blue skies  looking at the higher ridges  of our nearest mountain and it is ALL WHITE! They did get snow last night up there (just like the usually-inept weather people predicted)..while here below, the  pasture grass is emerald green, and  the tulips, redbuds, crabapples and dogwoods are  in full bloom,  and Springtime is really here.  FINALLY!  :W :S

The weather has sure been crazy....

Our back yard looks like a mud hole... rain all day Mon and Tues... kitchen floor has enough mud for a mud bath from the dogs coming in from the back yard,

Last night snowflakes were huge.... officially they claim a little over an inch of snow (luckily with all the rain, it really didn't stick), but this morning ice on some roads.

Saturday temps in mid 70's, but no camping for us as we both have to work this weekend.

Darn........

A little damp??? You're definately in a different part of Virginia than I'm in... ;)

All it's done around here is rain all week, sometimes torrential down pours. As for snow, well we don't get much of that in the dead of winter here! I feel for ya. Last week at the Spring Fling we started with mid 70's and ended in the mid 50's...

Look at it this way, in another month or so it'll too darn hot out there!!!
