A friend of ours has a rail to extend the bed of his pick-up over the tailgate and can flip inside the bed when not needed.

I need some help....

Do you know what I'm talking about and what is it called?

Any ideas as to the best place to get a good price?

Any opinions on them (pro's/cons)?

I did a search on Yahoo and put in pickup bed extender, and came up with lots of hits.

Here is one page:

We have an F-150 Super Crew, and this feature I believe is standard on them since you loose bed space to make the bigger cab.  We use ours occassionally, and it comes in handy when we are only picking up a few groceries, it keeps them from sliding around in the bed.

this is it... wonder if there are others around at a better price.

Tried JC Whitney but found nothing.

startx has it right, they are called bed extenders.  Most of them are the pipe systems, but I found THIS ONE which is solid.  Interesting.

I hope DH doesn't see that solid one.  He might want one. :)

They were an option when we bought our F150 SuperCrew..not standard. At the time we didn't think we'd use it, but there are times we wish we did have it.
