A little bad news to end the week on..  Kat was driving the Our new Durango to pick up our Son from school on Thursday and while she was coming up to the turn lane for the school, a young and very inexperienced driver decided to make a right turn and hit the gas really hard.  He started fish-tailing and lost control of the truck that he was driving.  He ran head-on into Kat.  She tried to stop as she saw the kid coming toward her, but it was too late.

We made a trip to the Emergency Room last night and Kat had x-rays of her neck and knee.  Everything is fine, other than being really sore. She has some muscle relaxers and pain medications to help her get thru the next couple of days.

We dropped off the truck at the body shop and they are looking forward to making it look good again.

Kat was worried more about the truck than she was about herself.

I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get the Durango back from the body shop, but I'm sure it will be great when its done.

Sorry to hear the accident. Thanks God, nothing major happened and that your son was not in the vehicle, that would be a bad experience for him.

The car will be as good as new in no time I am sure. My wife keeps hitting objects (moving or non moving) with our cars since she started to drive, and they always fix them really good    :D

sorry to hear about the accident, thank goodness she suffered nothing worse!!  Tell her to take care of her neck...Advil, muscle relaxants, moist heat on her neck will feel great and help loosen up those muscles!!  I had a car accident last July from yet another inexperienced young driver who started a chain reaction collision and unfortunately I'm still having PT for my neck and shoulder muscles as they spasm and that HURTS!!   They make these neat neck collars that are like a heating pads called Therabeads...it's a white cotton like material shaped for the neck and you pop it in the microwave for a couple of minutes and then wrap it around your neck...it gives off moist heat which penetrates the muscles to help increase blood flow to the area and loosen it up.  Feels great and is very soothing!!

Sorry to hear about the accident.  I hope your DW recovers quickly.

well, trucks can be replaced if necessary--people CANNOT--so glad Kat's injuries were no worse. :)

Between the threats of very old drivers and very young  drivers, the rest of us who live in  Vehicle World  have to be very watchful.  :(

So sorry to hear about the accident but so glad to hear Kat is okay.  Kat, take care and the TV will be like new.

angelsmom10

Glad everyone is OK... tell Kat that's why you carry insurance... repair or replace the TV.

whitestar505

Glad Kat was alright. You can always get another TV.

Camping season is already here so I hope the TV gets repaired very soon.  Is Kat feeling better now?

birol

Is the TV repaired ?

I am just kidding, I hope your wife is feeling much better already ...

The DW and the TV are in perfect shape.  :)

We were so used to towing the popup behind our Dakota that when we purchased the Durango with the higher towing capacity and the Hemi, we figured that the bigger (MUCH BIGGER) Hybrid Travel Trailer would be a dream.  Well, I can tell that I'm towing something.  It doesn't let me fly up the hills lke the popup did, I can actually tell that I'm towing something that weights about 6500lbs fully loaded.

We hope to see some of you out in the Camp Grounds this summer!!

NightOwl

Ahhhh, good news--DW and vehicle  BOTH in good shape just in time to enjoy the whole  camping season--this is entirely as it should be! :-()  :-()  :-()

birol

Yup Good news  indeed  Nice tyo see thing work out the way they are supposed to !  :)

angelsmom10

Glad everything in OK and that the TV is working for you.

We noticed the difference in towing this weekend when we had to have someone tow the PU when our TV broke down on the way home.  Our friend owns a Yukon V8 and it towed like there was nothing behind us.  Climbing the large hill by our house, we take it about 15-20mph and this guy was able to go 30mph and the engine didn't even sound like it was straining.

Next TV will be a V8.  We asked him his mpg and said it was poor 19mpg combination.  We only get about 17mpg combination with our V6.
