Questions on TV and older pop-up.

As a newbie I've got a couple of questions...

1.   I have a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan.  It has a transmission cooler (I traced the plumbing on it) and a class II hitch (well I'm guessing here, but it takes a 1-1/4" drawbar and the drawbar is stamped with a rating of 3500 lbs), my question is how can I tell if it has a 'factory tow package'?  The used car dealer I bought it from wasn't sure, but thought it was factory.  There is no info plate or anything stamped on the hitch itself.  The transmission cooler does have a mopar sticker with a number that I assume is the part number.  I was never concerned with it before, but now that I'm looking at buying a pop-up I need to know.

2.  I've heard about a 1971 Starcraft 1220 at a local dealer for under $300 and am very interested in it.  I've got a request in to the dealer to email me pictures of it.  But my question is this, does anyone know of a place/website where I can get info on this older pop-up?  I googled it and most of the stuff seemed to concern boats or other year models of Starcraft.  My concern is are there any 'red flags' I should be aware of for the model and year of Starcraft?  I know Starcraft have a fairly good reputation, but every manufacturer has lemons.  Any general advice to a newbie buying a used pop-up?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice, I am the proverbial sponge for information!  :book:

I would think that if you took the vin (vehicle id number) to a Dodge dealer they would be able to tell from that.

At that age (33 years)I would think that if it had been a lemon it would have been long gone by now.  I think it would be more a matter now of what works and what doesn't and are you willing to deal with fixing what needs to be fixed.  You might want to read through the posts on Birol's new (to him) pop up and see if this is the experience your looking for.  Could be a great adventure - could be a real pain.  It will all depend on your expectations.
