The first person to have 4,000 posts .....  I have slowed down considerably though   After all I am busy getting the minivan ready for the tow, brakes, hicth and all. We are also about to get appoved (fingers crossed) for a Chihuahua adoption ! I wanted a dog at all costs as the kids are dying to haev any kind of dog. Wifey said only a CHi would be allowed, so we are getting, hopefully, a 8 Lbs one We will see if it goes through very soon, we have been waiting so long for this.

Good luck on getting youself a "buggy eyed yapper"!!  My wife wants a fluffy small dog like a Lasha or a Papillion.

My dog is 12 years old and moving a little slowly these days--although she seems to have really perked up since I started taking her camping and to the races with me!

I've been checking out Petfinder.com lately. I'd like to get another dog to keep Bitsy company, and for my own benefit also. I used to have two dogs--Bitsy, my "bugle" (beagle/bulldog mix) and Candie, a cockapoo. Candie died about 7 years ago...when she was 12 1/2. Bitsy is approaching that age and I guess I'm starting to get a little anxious! When Candie died, I was so upset--I'd had her since she was 2 months old. But it really helped having a second dog. At least I didn't come home to an empty house every day. Guess I have that in mind now. But on the other hand, Bitsy's been an "only dog" for about seven years, so I don't know how she'd like suddenly having a new "sister"--especially a puppy.

If any of you are looking for a pet, try Petfinder.com. You can specify kind of animal (dog, cat, etc.), breed, size, sex, age, etc., if you like, and search in your area. It lists animals that are at shelters or with rescue groups. Looks like a great way to find the right pet and give a deserving animal a good home.

I don't understand.

Being the first person to 4,000, 10,000 or any other "milestone" say's what? I understand that people want different things from this (or any other) forum but posting to a "number" means less to me than posting something substantive.

labontefan, my Terrier-Poddle mix lived to be 18 and I know the depth of what upset can mean when losing a member of the family......18 years!  That's old in dog years.  She was the best pup I ever had. :%

I am not posting to a number, I just post a lot because I have too much idle time in my hands. No effort to post to reach a number here, just pure boredom and some questions popping up now and then out of curiosity. this thread was a boredom one
