Speaking of naming things

The "Name Birol's pop-up" thread got me thinking again about naming our boat.  We've had it for 4 years now and we have yet to come up with a clever name for it that we can agree on.  We've never been able to agree on a name for the camper either, but THAT is another story.  The boat is an 18 foot bow-rider (open front) with a inboard/outboard motor.  It's not big, but can carry 7-8 people and it's primarily trailered to lakes -- it's too small to go in the ocean.

After a group camping/boating trip to Raystown Lake, PA a couple years ago, the name for our boat became apparent to me.  The only things to do there are boating/swimming during the day and the only entertainment in the evening is a trip to a small ice cream place for Hershey's ice cream.  The group would sit around the campfire and joke about all the things DH liked to get on his ice cream and whether he could eat a three gallon container of Moose Tracks ice cream if one of the guys bought it for him, but I digress.

I thought we should name our boat "Wet Nuts" for several reasons...
1. DH likes wet (wal)nuts on his banana splits or sundaes :-()

2.  We are a bunch of nuts and after swimming off the back of the boat, we're.... WET!! (Bah-Rum-bump)  :J   :-()

DH has his mind in the gutter and thinks the name is not family friendly enough, now that we have kids.  Can I help it if his mind is in the gutter!?  If you saw a boat named "Wet Nuts", would YOUR mind be in the gutter and if it was, does it really matter?       :D    Is it just a guy thing to not like that name?  Am I being naive about the name or is DH being too uptight?     :screwy:

There are some REALLY clever people on this board.  What would YOU name our boat?  Let's keep it clean!

Maybe DH and I can find a name we both agree on... or maybe we'll never name the boat OR camper!  LOL!  :banghead:

Yes wet nuts does not sound right:)

How about :

sink or swim

Or

It's aboat time

wiininkwe

Not that I'm a final authority on anything, but I like wet nuts just fine as a boat name.

If someone were to laugh out loud about the name, I would just stare them in the face and ask what is so funny???  Go ahead and name your boat what you want.  I am sure there are plenty of other not so good names that would be even worse.   Remember, than in most cases, a boat is female so what would be wrong with wet nuts?

I knew a guy whose boat was named reel country.  He liked to fish the big pond and he like country music.  That seemed to fit.  "Yard boat" needs no explanation.  If you look around, you will see some funny names on boats.

How about the Little Dipper.  It's not a big boat... you take a dip (swim) off it... and ice cream cones are often called dips... "one dip or two?"

Mommamia,
I LOVED "one dip or two"!!!  That is so funny -- and I'll definitely bring it up to DH.

Basically, it sounds like the guys have a problem with "wets nuts" ... in more ways than one:yikes: , but I meant the name for a boat!  :D

I can't help myself.  I am in SUCH a goofy mood.  We're going camping this weekend and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!
