I spotted a link to this over at PUX, it's an alternative to webshots, and is free, ad free too, and dedicated to Pop-ups. It's clearly a start-up thing, but looks very promising!

I wonder if it will crash under a heavy transfer load ... Hopefully not !

It is an excellent idea ! I think we should support it !

Being the absolute photography freak that I am, I found I was outgrowing Webshots! With the upgraded membership (which I have), you're allowed 50 albums, and I already have over 40. (Since I don't have to pay for film or processing with a digital camera, I really go nuts taking pictures.)

I thought about getting a second Webshots membership and then decided to search around online & see if I could find another site that hosts online albums. Ran across this place:

http://www.clubphoto.com

It also has the option of free membership or upgraded paid membership. There are different levels of paid membership. I opted for the "Platinum" level, since it offered the most storage.

So far, I like it pretty well. The album size limits are larger than Webshots (100 pictures vs. 60 pictures). The captions are easier to add also, since you can do a whole album at a time rather than one at a time.

At Martinsville two weeks ago I took over 400 pictures (yes, 400  :yikes: ), so the larger album size came in handy. (Still had to split them into five albums.)

Here are the albums I've created so far:
