Got it back from the dealer yesterday !

Ended up paying 180 bucks after extended warrantypaid God knows how much ! I should have asked. They also replaced the leaking gasget thingie in the transmission as it was covered by the warranty and the service person know that I am jobless, so she ddin't want me to pay for another deductible.

The bad news is, the transmission fluid is almost dark and needs to be flushed and refilled, another 100 bucks ! And she said I need to change the tires ! I had purchased two used ones last summer and they are gone as well :( One has cracks, two are almost gone one is so so ......

the good news is when we took son to the mall, I passed by Seas automotive center and they are closing that particular one, so I found 3 215/70/r15's at half price !!!! 45 bucks each !!!! brand new ! But they had only three :( I drove to the pickering mall (10 miles) and bought a fourth one (they found one after searching for 15 minutes) at 20% discount at 60 bucks ! With the taxes I paid 23 dollars for four brand new tires !!!!!! That is such a deal ! The cheapesrt I ever found at wallmart was 70 bucks rated for 80,000 KM's That would work out to be 430 bucks ! The ones I bought are rated for 115,000 Km ! It is an excellent deal for a poor folk like me.

I am now going to the junk yard to get a wheel to put the so so tire on so that I will have a full sized spare. right now we have one of those silly small ones which can not be used while towing anything. A full spare is a must while towing the trailer tent. So there goes another 35 bucks but well worth it. Better than getting stuck in middle of nowhere and paying hundreds to two tow vehicles !

I will get the transmission flushed next week ... all of the newspaper earnings for March and April  will be spent on the windstar and the PU :)

Still, I am happy we could buy the PU and the tires !

Sounds like you have a good dealer.  At least they got a lot of it covered under one deductable.

I agree on the spare, those "spares" are terrible, especially if you have to drive the highway.  I had to do that in March when I kept having to put air in my regular tire and DH took the tire off and took up to have it fixed.  I had to drive to work (23miles expressway) on one of those tires.  Nothing like everyone "zipping by" and giving you dirty looks because you are going so slow.

yeah, they care, especially the girl I talk to. She is very good ! Yesterday we realized that she became the assistant service manager ! And to boot she is soo cute ! She had a very nice hair cut, but I couldn't say anything to hear fearing that it would be misunderstood. When we went to pickup the windstar with wifey, she immediately realizd her new hair cut and complimented her, I told wifey right there, that it was good that she realized it and that I agreed that it looked beautiful ! also added that I just couldn't compliment her myself of course :) She had such a big smile on her face till we left :)

I got a used wheel from the junk yard this morning ! it is not in top shape but it sure will do the job if it needs to !

Ya know Birol, We have a Windstar, a Starcraft, a Chihuahua, and my 14 year old DD likes to say "Silly Turkey" instead of "Silly goose".  We're almost related!  ;)
