Water Leak, hand pump?

I just picked up my popup from the service dept. I had a leak coming from under the sink when I hooked up the water hose. He said they had to replace the hand pump. Can anyone tell me what this is? It's a 2001 Coleman Sante Fe.

The hand pump is your faucet.  You have to pump it if you are using the water tank, and not the city water connection.

We have replaced two of these.  We did not use the fresh water tank but did use the city water hookup. When we used city water, a tiny amount of water found its way into the pump chamber.  Winterizing the city water side did not push enough anti-freeze into the pump part of the faucet.  The water froze and made a hairline crack in the pump housing.  Since we did not use the tank, we removed it and added to our storage.  (We carry 5 gallon jugs for use when there is not fresh water to the site.)  
We replaced the pump/faucet with a good brass laundry faucet we purchased at Home Depot.  This took some modification of the sink cabinet.  We hooked up both the hot and cold water side so when we winterize we can make sure anti-freeze goes through both sides and no water is left to freeze.  We like the extra space under the seat where the water tank was and the faucet has been in for three seasons now with no problem.

Thanks for the help. We had never used the water tank, but like you we did use the city water hookup. We don't have a hot water heater so I didn't think I had to use any antifreeze. You live and learn. I'll pump the hand pump at the end of the season to make sure there's no water in it.

You will have to pump anti-freeze through the pump to keep it from freezing.  I tried just pumping it and the next season I bought my second faucet.  Had I not removed my tank, I would have fixed a way to drop the pump suction line into the anti-freeze to keep from having to pour anti-freeze into the water tank.  Hope this helps!

You can get a pump kit and pump the antifreeze out of the gallon jug it comes in.
