FINALLY, our calendar gave us some camping time.   So we hastily made some calls.  We are going to be setting up at Little Pine State Park  6/24 thru 6/27.

I've visited this park on a day visit but not done a camping excursion.  Campground is not real big and is away from the main park activities.  Scouting trip last year revealed many in park and out of park hiking trails (some are oldies but goodies from my backpacking days), fishing, swimming beach and LOTS of woods.

Nearby is the Pine Creek Rails to Trails (camping and riding - the best) and YES there are Geocaches within striking distance.  Rumor has it there is a nesting Bald Eagle pair right in the park.  We all know where Sharon will set up.

Sorry we can't hook up with you guys on the various other upcoming excursions but family and work come first.  There is a long camping season ahead of us.  More to come.

:(  We can't make it.  Boy Scout camp starts that weekend. :eyecrazy:

I camped there with the Girl Scouts years and years ago.  It is one of the parks I have wanted to go to. :)

Although it would be nice to have fellow COTOC members along I understand we made a quickie decision, as seems to be the trend for us these days.

I will scope this new to us Park out for future trips and of course if anyone is interested in joining us you are more than welcome.

Camp On !!!!

We took a 4 day trip to Little Pine Creek State Park

I must say this was the nicest CG we have stayed at yet.

Modern, fully automatic bathrooms.  Clean , well maintained campsites of generous size.  Ours was actually bigger than our front yard at home.

Campground is seperated from the remainder of the park, which kept the traffic to a min.  But still the beach, etc. were all close.  Also  the Pine Creek Rails to Trails is only a 10 min. drive away and soooo nice.  We even had a Bald Eagle circle the campground a couple of times.  They are nesting close by.

I highly recommend this SP for a nice, quite getaway to Penns Woods.
