Looking into Damaged PU-Update

Well I went and looked at it. It definately has a mouse infestation
plus a huge black ant nest on one of the bunk ends. They are going to put a bug bomb in it.
 
It is a 1977 Starcraft. 14 foot box, ice box, working furnace, a
large fold up wardrobe. Lots of room. The box and insides are in
good shape but needs cleaning real bad. All the canvas and cushions
need to be replaced so we are going to tear all of it out, air it
out really good and clean it up. It has all new cables in it also,
put in last year and I even have the spare cables for it. It sat
under some trees for a year so I have alot of outside cleaning to do
too. With new cushions and canvas it will be a good starter camper
for someone. I'm just not going to put the money into the
canvas/cushion part of it.
I'll post some pics when I bring it home tomorrow. After the canvas has been taken off. The canvas is in really REALLY is in bad shape.

My dad found that 409 workes really well to clean the outside of the pu. Afterwards it looked better than it did before I brought it home.

Well we found a home for the pop up. Actually found her the day we
picked it up but hadn'e been confirmed she wanted it till last night.

She is a single mother of three kids, 2 boys, one goirl ages 12, 10
and 8. They love camping but haven't gone in 2 years, since her
husband passed away. I have known her for a few years, my son used
to be an assistant coach for her sons baseball team.

Anyway, she is all excited to be getting it. We are bringing it to
her house this morning so she can start tearing into it and get rid
of the canvas and cushions. The boys and I are going to help her
but she wants to do most of it herself. Gotta love a woman like
that. Self sufficent. SHe still has her income tax saved up so she
is going to send for the new canvas soon. She also knows how to sew
really well so she will be making new cushions and just use air beds
on the bunk ends.

We are camping this weekend soI won't be able to help until next
week. But with her gun Ho attitude she will probably have it done
before we get back....LOL. Her plan is to have it ready to go by
mid August. I believe she will do it.

Save the canvas until the new one comes in... I checked into it a few years ago with our old PU and they requested you send them the old canvas along with the make and model to be sure it matches us correctly.

It sounds like the PU found a good home.  I hope the family has a great time camping.
