Hey all - bad news this time around I'm afraid...

Stephie's Dad had a heart attack yesterday afternoon.  They tried to do an angioplasty thinking that it was one blockage, but they found five.  They will have to do open heart surgery on Monday the 19th.  He is stabilized, and doing well enough that they can get him prepared for surgery rather than him not doing well and having to do emergency surgery right now.  The Dr. says he has a 99% success potential.  Obviously our North Lake trip will probably be moved forward one week so we can be sure he is home and doing well, and stay relatively close to home.  This will also cancel our Maine trip for 100% sure.  If anyone would like to call or anything, send me an email for the number or Tracy or Di has all of our info and get it from one of them.  I don't wanna post our phone number here.  Please keep us in your prayers....

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.  I'm sure all will work out... DH's father needed by-pass surgery in the early '90's and was told it would be quad by-pass by all the tests and everything and when they got in, only needed to do a double, but everything did work out.

We will keep Stephanie's dad and your whole family in our prayers.

My mom had a heart attack late January and when the docotrs went to do an angioplasty in mid-march, found that her blockages required a triple bypass instead. They were also able to perform the surgery on a prepatory basis (not emergency), which really makes a world of difference. My mom's surgery was March 30th and she has come through it with flying colors. She has just completed cardio physical therapy and has changed her diet to no salt/low fat and has lost 25 pounds and just gets better every day. We now joke that her heart attack was the best thing that could've happened to her, especially since she could have had a stroke if things had gone along undetected and that would have been far more debilitating.

I tell you that so that you don't lose heart.  Keep the faith and know that we are all praying that your FIL's surgery goes well and that he makes a full and rapid recovery!!

Sharon and I send our best wishes and prayers.  Sharon's dad suffered a serious heart attack almost 8 years ago. The wonders of modern medicine and lots of prayers has him chuggin' right along at 81 yrs old.  We wish the same good fortune to Stephanie's Dad.  I'm sure all will be fine.  Hang in there.  We're thinkin of ya.

Rick,
I'm so sorry to hear about Steph's dad. We'll be keeping him in our thoughts and prayers. I think it's too late to call you now. Most likely you'll have your cell off while at the hospital but Chris & I will try to get a call through.

Hey everyone...

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts...  We love you all!  Steph's Dad was scheduled for open heart surgery this coming Monday.  Yesterday, he was "struggling" (I am searching for a word but can't think of it) so they did the surgery this morning ahead of schedule and didn't wait.  I was at the hospital most of the day, Stephie got there at 5am this morning.  She's sleeping there tonight, no one is supposed to stay over, but they would let only 1 of us stay, so of course she did.  We only saw him for about 20 minutes total after the surgery.  We were allowed 5 minute visits every hour or so.  He seems to have come through the surgery okay...  I'll know more tomorrow.  Di my cell is on 24/7 so if you'd like to call that it's on.  Thanks again to all of our friends on here.  Can we PLEASE go camping somewhere once we put this behind us??

Steph,
Sorry to hear about your dad. I have not been on much this summer and I just checked in to say HI to all and then read this. I hope and pray he is doing better.
We have had a lot of social things this summer, weddings, showers, graduations etc. Rich and I are going to build a new house on one of our lots in the future and it is time to get this one ready. Lots of things happening so not too much camping going on. We did get up to the great north woods of NH with friends and it was great. Hope things get better so you can get out a bit.
Take care all. PI
