We are planning our before school trip to Salter Path NC for beach, diving and sea food.  This year, we'd like to drive at least part of the way the night before we get out spot at the cg so we can get to the beach earlier.  Gotta work on that tan, you know!

Anyway, we're taking our pooch (the calm springer spaniel, the spastic terrier is going to the doggie spa for the weekend) and would like to stop part way and get a room for the night.  We haven't traveled with a dog in over ten years and have forgotten which hotel chains allow dogs.  I'm thinking that Holiday Inns used to?  Help!

Thanks in advance,

Tena

Tena,

Go to Pets Welcome . com.  You can find almost everything there for pet travel, including hotels that take pets from dives to 4 star hotels.

OC Campers

I think most Motel 6's take pets.  My mother in law always stays there because she travels with her Siberian Husky.

We used a Best Western.

This link may help.... each state has multiple listings for pet friendly hotels

www.petfriendlyhotelsandtravel.com is another one that we've used.   The main hotel chains seem to have different rules in different cities!

Gone-Camping

This thread reminds me of my friend "ACER" who sold me the Coleman Rio 2 years ago. The reason I wound up with that trailer, had everything to do with dogs and motels. You see, he and his DW Kathy got this Chocolate Lab, it's one of the 'Block-head' big boned variety. It was too big for the PU, so when they went to Wash DC to visit with his son, they had big troubles finding a motel room that also allowed dogs. They did find a couple, but were flabergasted by the $200 pet deposit at some of them. At that point, Kathy told him he could go ahead and buy the Class-A that he'd been wanting (she didn't want to go any bigger than the Coleman PU)... And that's how I wound up owning their PU for a year and half!!!
