Greetings...

After thining about it, I decided to rejoin popuptimes ( i was a member way back before dues).  The last two years have been hectic as I have been working on a MA in Multicultural Ministry, and only been able to take out pop out a few times.

But, we are getting ready for 13 days heading up the coast... probably a few of them at Felton, where our favorite campground is.

My wife is a teacher, and I am a pastor - so we are somewhat busy folks.  A few years ago, someone gave us a 76 Starcraft which we naively took out... It was in awesome shape, except no refridge ( old ice box unit) and leaky water lines.  Rather than fix it up ( we really thought about that) we opted to get a bayside.  THen someone gave us a membership to silent valley rv campground ( nice large but a little exclusive place near idylwild) which we love.

We are both musicians as well.

Look forward to getting to know the new folk, and remembering the older ones...

God Bless

Welcome Pastor Parker. I remember you from the previous board. You bought a newer Coleman Bayside? Correct? I am glad to have you and your family join our group. We are Lutheran's also. I grew up Missouri Synod but we currently belong to an ELCA church here in Fountain Valley. I doubt we will be able to meet you though. My husband has been transferred to the Sacramento area and we should be up there permanently by the end of August, if all goes well. Everyone in this group is wonderful and you are sure to fit in.

Well Reverend, welcome to a fun group of families.. I can see you like your suds as well as I do. I prefer my brew dark and my favorites are Anchor Steam, Fat Tire and a couple of Mexican brews. We'll have to toss a few in October. Welcome to the group. My wife and I are big fans of Dutch oven cooking, so if you have any questions, fire away.

Moose,

Well, Lutheran pastors have no restriction against a good beer, my favorite of all is actually a non-alky ( for which I am branded as a radical near heretic ) that I pick up at trader joes.

One exception can be around people who have problems with alchohol, less I cause them to stumble a bit, so I am a bit careful in public, but I look forward to it

Godspeed,
Dt

P.S. I heard a bad thing happened recently - Coors bought Molsom...   :-(

Hi there, Pastor Parker, it is awfully good to have you among us again.  My summer has taken me away from home quite a bit so I am late in  greeting you.  (Actually, although I am a  Congregationalist,  I  have a special place in my heart for Lutherans and come from a long line of Lutherans--a bunch of Norwegians, what else could they possibly be?)   And I'm happy  to say our youngest daughter recently became  a Lutheran)  It's a good church and one of the highlights of my whole life was attending midnight communion  in Ann Arbor with her last Christmas Eve.

PS--like any good Norske, I prefer Ringnes beer (but they dont have it here in Georgia, alas, so I wait until I visit the relatives in South Dakota to get it :#)

Nightowl, your daughter doesn't happen to go to St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor does she?  My Aunt and Uncle have gone there for 20 + years.  When you mentioned going at midnight it reminded me of there.  Their church is absolutely huge.  I have never gone anywhere that had 4 lines of communion going at once.

Pastor Parker,

Welcome back.  Glad to hear that you'll have the opportunity to use your camper more.  Be sure to check out the 2005 Western Rally Forum.  It's going to be in Pismo and might be a nice reprieve from the Yucca Valley heat.
