It seems that I am always waiting for cooler temps. Just in the last couple of days we were sent a teaser if you will in the way of lower temps combined with dryer air. It only lasted 24 hours, but we wallowed in it just the same.I'm told that we will get another taste later this week, temps in the uper 60's a night. I may have to open up that pop up in the backyard and spend the night out there.

I'm now beginning to plan that first camping trip without Alex. Don't know when or where we will go, just know that we must go. I'm sure it will be emotional and wondering whether or not we should make this trip alone or with others. We have several families that we are close to that enjoy camping and as I'm writting this I think it may be a good idea to have them with us.

Still serving an awesome God, still asking Him the hard questions and still loving and missing Alex more than anyone can imagine.

Gone-Camping

I know exactly what you mean. We've been under some pretty heavy humidity this summer, thanks in large part to TOO MUCH rain. The only consolation was the temps have been signifcantly lower due to all the rain clouds etc. However, the last few days have been wonderful with low temps and low humidity. However, it'll be back into the 90's again tomorrow!

I'm one of those people that can hardly wait for October to get here!!! Thats MY kind of weather!!!

Ditto!  I have loved this summer, we've only had about 3 really hot weeks, and mainly it was just the humidity that was bad!  Since I was working outside most of the summer, I tried to keep up on the sun screen, but it seems to me the sun just ignored it and burned my face anyway!  Hopefully I don't look like I'm 90 but the end of August!

Bring on the Fall!

Cooler Temps????  We would get the "S" word. :frosty: I wish we would have our normal dog days of August temps.  The low for wednesday is predicted around 48.  Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s all this week.  I do love the cooler temps but having to use the heater in the PU at night is just to much.  Plus the water in the lakes just haven't warmed up this year for swimming.  I'll try and send some your way.  Now where did  put that BIG fan.:D

Oh my gosh..that's absolutely PERFECT camping temps in my book!  :) Unfortunately, those days are few!   This past weeked was pretty darn close to perfect.  It was an amazingly gorgeous weekend for August in Virginia!!!

I agree, I cant wait for cooler temps!  What am I doing in Florida?  Well when I first moved here I loved it, but now that I work fulltime and cant go to the beach during the day to cool off and the fact I have aged years after being here and the "Hot Flashes" have kicked on me at an early age, I cant wait to jump into a pile of snow!  Anyone up north if you want a pool, dig a hole patch it with concrete and wait for snow to fill it up.  I'll jump in and instant pool and even a hot tub for a few while.

I'm glad I live in north florida where we do get a change of season and I have pic's of the kids in the snow, but that has not happened in a while, nor has the hurricanes here.  The snow usually happens after a season of hurricanes

Actually one of my favorite places to camp here is where the water is 72 degrees in the summer.  But I like going to the mountains where you can still get a crisp morning and evening most of the time.

Cajun, so glad to have you back on the board, I look forward to your wisdom, camping recipes and tales of your trips.  Also so cheered to see you back to camping, I'm sure Alex would want it that way.  Look forward to seeing you in the future someday.

Cajun,

We have prayed for Alex and your family ever since you posted about his illness and journey home to the Lord.  Plan your trip and know that it will be sad and yet gloriously tender as you recall and hold close all the wonderful times you had with your son.  He isn't gone as long as you hold him in your heart.  And take comfort, you will be reunited with him again when it's your time and will know joy beyond anything any of us can ever imagine.

You are right--the Lord is an awesome God and despite your sorrow, this plan that He has for you will prosper you in His way.  Go ahead and ask God those hard questions.  He loves you and He has all the answers, so hard questions don't bother Him.  He'll answer you.

You're still in our prayers--be blessed.

If it weren't for a lot of rain, we've had really great weather locally.  We only had 2-3 days that reached 90, which is unusual for us.

DH was off Mon & Tues, so Fri afternoon was able to talk my boss into letting me take 2 days of vaction and we went camping Sat-Tues.... we couldn't have asked for better weather; we didn't even need the a/c there usually was a great breeze.

Wild Wild Qwest

We were up in the 1000 Islands of NY last week. It was breezy all week and it never got above 75' It was nice, but then again we didn't get to use the pool. Although we love camping in the fall, we're not ready to say good bye to summer either...

Cajun it is good to see you posting again.  I hope you have a wonderful trip to help deal with your loss.

We were in Maine last week and had great weather most of the time.  Cool enough at night that we didn't need a fan and had to use a light weight blanket.  During the days it was in the 70s most of the time.  Of course there was the 24 hour rainy day with down pours that made it hard to see the road, but we were camping. :)
