Were are good pleaces to camp in the outer banks

We have a travel trailer an dusually stay at National Parks. The ones in Cape Hatteras National Seashore dont have alot to offer? Or do they?

I have lok at Ocean Waves and Frisco Woods and cannot decide which may be better?
It looks like Ocean Wave is right in the middle of town, as you can see houses when looking at pics of websites?

I cant find any clear pic's of the sites at Frisco?

Any help would be welcome

Gone-Camping

I camp at Ocean Waves several times per year, they have nice roomy sites, concrete pads with grassy area's between them, and several sites with shade tree's. It's also ocean front, just walk from your campsite to the beach. (the pictures you looked at are likely ones that I took and posted, I host the campgrounds website).

As for Frisco Woods, it's not as nice as the others, and it's NOT ocean front, though they do have some sound front campsites. There are no paved roads, no concrete pads, and maybe some grass, but you're going to find it is mostly sand. They do have some nice shaded area's, maybe even some hook-up's in the shaded area's (don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure about it).

One strong point for Frisco Woods, is the best beach for swimming is near them, nice flat sandy beaches with mild surf conditions. It's about a mile or so from the campground, and a 4x4 will be nice to have (otherwise it'll be quite a walk to the beach from the paved road).
