Matt,
Welcome ......  We too are newbies....at least to the group.  We went on our first trip with SCCampers to vail lake Temecula.  We had a blast.  What a great group!!!!  You are in for a treat.  We are waiting for the next trip.  We will be there for sure.  Have fun with your PopUp and if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask....one thing we have learned, there are no stupid questions.

Welcome to the group Matt. This is a great group of families. There are empty nesters and families with young'ns as well as a lot in between. We have a lot of fun and help each other. There's no such thing as a dumb question here, unless it's after too many marg-a-git-a's.

Thanks for the welcome,

I am planning on taking the kids to the Vail Lake campgrounds. I have many great memories of my years of camping as a child at "Butterfield Country"!!!

I hope the campground is as nice for the kids now as it was then. This will be our first trip in the new PU. Planning to go before XMAS....

I'm sure I will be able to mangage one or two stupid questions on MODS during the first year or so. No need to be gentle - I can handle the truth! LOL

I look forward to meeting you all soon!!!

PS - Do you guys have stickers or signs that identify your PU when not at a rally etc?????

Thx Matt in San Diego

Hi Matt!:W

I'm glad that you found us! A bunch of our group is down at Campland this weekend and there may possibly be the hint of a get-together the week between Christmas and New Year's at Lake Cachuma, but other than that, we don't really have any local rallies scheduled...yet. :) There is a mega-rally held in conjunction with Nick-Neff-Cough, our sister-club up North. It will be at Pismo Coast Village June 23-26. You can check it out at this thread: http://arveeclub.com/forumdisplay.php?f=71

We schedule most of our rallies through these boards so check back often. It's not uncommon for someone to casually post that they'll be at a particular cg on a partiuclar weekend, and then next thing you know, 10 families end up going camping together! :D

I don't remember how I found this group but I did. I've been reading the posts for several weeks now and you all sound like a great bunch of people. Here's our stupid question: My wife and I have been thinking of getting a PU. We live in Huntington Beach and I was hoping someone would recommend a brand of PU and a place that sells them neat HB. Thanks in advance - Russ

Try Traveland USA off of Sand Canyon and highway 5.......... They carry StarCraft. And there is also a dealer of Coachman Pop-Ups in Santa Ana off Grand..........

Type in Coachman Folding Trailers into Google. Its one of those links........

I bought my Fleetwood in El Cajon/San Diego and I know there is a Fleetwood dealer in Onterio...

Hope this helps///

Matt,

Quite a few of us have the bumper sticker from PopUp Times on our rigs.  And at a number of Rallies, Moose has made up 8 1/2" x 11" Rally Signs for us with the name of the rally and our screen names.  I don't know about the rest, but we have them up in our window when we camp.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome Matt!

We are new too and looking forward to the Rally in June.  We got to meet Lori and Dee and their families at the RV show.

Anyone still hinting about a trip between Christmas and New Year's?

:eyecrazy: Hello to the newbees...we have only been on two rallies with this group...Vail lake and Camperland on the Bay...but the group are warm and friendly people...and boy can they cook...Dee bakes apple pies and cookies all day in her new hybrid's oven...We have really enjoyed camping with this group...I feel so lucky to have found them.  It's sort of hard to remember names and board names, putting signs up in the campers would be helpful...I am personally going to work on mine. Matt we are in S.D. also and I also have fond memories of camping at Butterfield Country about 20 years ago...Keep watching the boards trips are planned here and this group are camping fools.  We have the love of camping in common.  One thing about living in So Cal is that you aren't too far from the ocean, desert, or mountains.....so weekend trips are doable.. But then we have to go back to work on Monday....thats the rough part and saying goodbye until the next trip. :(

Hello Mat - Thanks for the info. I will go by those two places tomorrow and check them out. Maybe I'll even buy a unit tomorrow, and then I'll join this great group. We've been camping in our Sportsmobile and we love it, but we need a bit more room - Russ

Russ...you can get a Fleetwood at a place in Stanton called American Sales.  We got our Fleetwood there in the summer, worked with Bob...and found it all to be very positive.

I agree the Fleetwood dealer in Stanton is really nice especially their service center.  We ended up buying our Coleman in Ventura (a bit of a drive) but I saved $2,000.   American sales in Stanton couldn't even come close to All Tent Trailer rentals price.  A couple of the SCampers bought their Coleman/Fleetwoods at Carl's Acres of trailers in Ontario.
