Before..

After.. (not quite done, but I think you get the idea, and yes.. all diffrent sheet metal from the cowl forward. fenders, hood, & grille shell)

Man I like the old school look of a CJ.. By late spring it will be done and painted in that nice Mack Truck red you see there.. Lot of work there. Thats all..

CampNfan

WOW! looks like a fun project Lee. Good luck with it, looks like it is going to a shrap ride when you finish it.

Very cool -- gotta love a JEEP!

Thanks all.. It is amazing how much taller & narower that grille is compared to the one that was on it. It "looks" like the hood is a foot taller, but it is mostly an illusion. It is probably 3" or so taller, but it  just looks like more.. I can not wait to get it re-painted.. something about red, must be the latent fireman in me. :D

Jeep......Daimler/Chrysler.....Dodge  uh, huh, what? Oh yea a nice member of the Chrysler family. Doesn't look too much like a Toyota though. Do you still have the Toyota?

Seriously, that Jeep should look great with that red on it.

Looks good.  I especially like the new headlights.

But Lee, I would NEVER have expected YOU of all people to have a calendar with scantily clad women hanging in your garage!

Miss-Teri

JK!  *snicker*  Made you all look, didn't I?  ;)

Now that was not very nice... :p  If you look close, you will notice that it is not only the headlights, but the hood, grille shell, & fenders..

Here is what it looked like during the removal of all that odd looking square headlight stuff...

Wow!  Excellent job!

My wife fusses at me for having a stereo in the garage. I made sure she saw you first pic and pointed out that you have two computers in the garage!:D

I'm with you Lee, the front grill of a CJ-5/7 says JEEP more than the Wrangler did! Did you do all the metal work?

Firefyter-Emt

Well the computers were just being worked on back then.. But I do have my shop wired for sound.. I have an old "speaker box" attached to the celing. My office is in a room right behind the shop (attached gargae) My AM/FM/CD has an aux input I have hooked to my computer. This is my "speakers" The stereo has the original speakers on my desk top and I have an A/B switch in the shop to switch between the 2 sets. This way I can play any station/CD or streaming music in the shop or my office.

As for metal work.. You mean like this? Yep, ground up restore on the nose. It has all been sandblasted and smoothed to perfection.. (BTW, that hood is not as bad as it looks there, most all of that is a light skin coat of filler..

Here are all the parts ready for paint.. I have the windshield frame painted and sitting to harden up real good before I get a new windshield put in..
