I have an 01 Niagara and am having problems with the velcro on the outside that attaches the tenting to the sides and around the door. I have replaced it twice and the adhesive always lets go  in a few months. Does anybody know of a brand that will stay put, if there is such a thing and where to find it.......

I have had the same problem, I replaced it with the Industrial strength stuff from HD.  Once I cut it and put it where I wanted I used a self taping screw and washer on the top and bottom edges to attach it to the door frame, its worked for over 2 years.  I figured that screws are more useful than pop rivets in this case so that I can replace the velcro when it wears out.

The only way I could get any success replacing it on my Starcraft was to clean the metal surface (aluminum) real good with an automotive type solvent and then used a 3M double sided tape (kind that was used for auto body side moldings) onto the metal surface. Then peeled the back off the new velcro strip and attached to the double sided tape. Evidently the adhesives of the velcro and the 3M tape did the trick as they have never even hinted about coming loose!

We had the same problem on our '95 Cape Cod and DH took it to an upholstry (SP?)shop and had additional snaps put all around the door and up the seams where the canvas connected to our hardwalls. No More velcro worries. This worked out great and didn't cost a bundle!

we replaced ours too..we use the industrial velco but we also cleaned the "gunk" with a "gunk" cleaner.  Made sure the surface was a clean an it could be.   It's been about 6 months or more and no problems.  We use the pop-up at least once a month so its in the weather often.

Cheryl, The snaps idea sounds like a trouble free way to go, much neater too. I will check it out....Thanks......

I use Marine Goop to reattach velcro to the metal of the PU.:)

My Viking had velcro on both sides of the doors that came loose. The velcro on the Viking came sealed to a thin piece of plastic that slid into a groove on each side of the doorframe. I got replacement pieces from Viking for mine and just had to remove a screw from the bottom of each groove, it was actually a screw that held a rubber bumper to keep the door from damaging the ceiling when stored.
