The RJ Ranch in VA is being sold

I received a Christmas card from the RJ Ranch, where the 2003 Eastern Rally was held, and it said that the RJ Ranch is being sold.:yikes:  Does any one know anymore about it?  It is a very nice campground.

From what I have read and seen, it is a popular, well-run campground, so the chance that it will stay a campground should be good.  We have wanted to go there, but have not had a chance yet, so I hope that it will still be there.

I am sad about the Miller's selling. They have run a very good campground. We have camped the last 2 Halloweens there and have enjoyed it.
I saw the Miller's, Bob & his wife and daughter& SIL At Ocean Lakes CG over the Thanksgiving holiday. Talked to the daughter and saw Bob on the front porch of rental unit. BUt did not get back to talk to him.
Maybe they are selling to Ocean Lakes and will still run it?
We will have to see who buys it and how they will run it!
The Miller's did a lot to that campground to make it better and had a lot of long range plans to make it better.
But you know running a CG is a MORE than full time job in the camping season. You are working 24/7 for around 5-6 months a year and then any free time you are working on making it better.
It was nice to see them out camping(well kind of) at another CG.
I will see if they have a booth at the Greensboro,NC camping show. It is January 7-9,early this year. That will help with some answers.

Well, We met the new managers of RJ's at the Greensboro,NC rv show.
Bob is the managers name and his wife.
a big RV resort company has bought RJ's.

They have also bought Yogi Bear in Cherokee, NC. The new owner is out of Texas.
Plan to keep it the same but upgrade, add some 50amp sites and pull though sites. upgrade the water&power in the wooded loop. Bring a little more bling to the cg. Golf carts will be rented if you want one..
Activites will be the main focus for campers. Adding more!!!

This same company purchased Shangri-La on the creek too in PA ! Seems campground multi property themes are on the rise.

KOA themes are catching on !

Last year Spring Gulch in PA was sold to a time share company.

NO , this is NOT BOB MILLER..
I know Bob and his wife and family.. Something about family caused them to sell.. Nothing health wise or divorce, just a family concern that lead them to sell.. I know it is a lot of work to run a CG..
Yes this company is out of Texas and the new owner/s is buying several if you look on the website I have listed.
