Coleman 12V question

I just bought a 1994 Coleman Destiny.  It did not come with the adapter to hook the camper up to a 12 battery.  I am going camping this weekend and got to thinking of other ways to run 12V power.

Is it possible to run plug the camper into the tow vehicle and run the camper off of its battery?  We will not be using power very much, so I am not really worried about killing my battery.
thanks.

sapp - that's the way I have my present Starcraft set up and also was the same for my previous popup, a '96 Coleman Yukon. Since '96 I'm now on the third different TV so I'm not sure I recall what I had to do with the first two, although as best I can remember, think it was about the same as the present TV which is an '02 GMC Serria pick 'em up. The truck came with a factory wiring harness so wiring to the trailer connector was easy. Plus Starcraft's wiring harness was already color coded and it came along with a schematic showing where each wire was going. On the tow vehicle connector (7-way) it went something like this: top, white = ground and then all the way around - left turn, tail lights, charge, right turn, brake and the center was "auxiliary". Here it was necessary to run a hot wire from the TV's battery (with a 15 amp fuse installed as it came off the battery cable) to this center post. The corresponding wire from the camper is connected to the converter. When boondocking all that's necessary for me is to back-up close enough to the camper where the electrical will connect and I have 12 volt power. Now my present Starcraft does not have a furnace so the pull off the TV's battery is little. However, the previous Yukon did have the furnace option and I ran it off the TV's battery many times. I should say that I like sleeping on the cool side so when I did use the camper furnace it was always set for something like 55 degrees so it did not cycle that often - also, never was in any kind of weather where it was "that" cold.

If you have a Fleetwood PU dealer in your area you can get the battery wire from them.  If you don't have a battery for the PU and you want to connect the PU to the tow vehicle, but don't have a wired hot line in your tow vehicle wiring.  You can get one of these adapters from a Fleetwood dealer or make your own.  It has the white plug your trailer tongue is wired for and a plug for a cigarette lighter on the other end.:)

Thanks for the help guys.  I have a Fleetwood dealer hear in town, but the lady looked at me like I was nuts when I asked her if she had said plug.
I will look for another dealer while I am on the road the next few day.
