Was with a PUT group 3 years ago (yes, it has been that long).

We went back for the 4th with 2 campers (I pulled my Bantam with Raymond's truck and he pulled my popup with my minivan) and took the stepdaughter and grandkids.

The Jayco popup is on it's last legs, somewhere between Delaware and Soloman's Island MD, Raymond lost the spare tire and rack off the back of the camper. It rained Sunday and the canvas leaked (had not sealed the canvas for 3 years).

Westmoreland was non the worse for the hurricane last year, still a few felled trees around.

We were in campground B, it was OK, sites relatively level. Lots of gravel. They had a nice dishwashing station between the restrooms. Because it is a sandy area, the floors were always gritty in the restrooms. And by 10:00PM the women's restroom was out of toilet paper and none showed up until late morning the next days.

Donna and kids liked the pool, agin, the restroom/locker room left something to be desired as far as being clean. No curtains on the changing stalls.

Jeffrey took the evening kayak trip, they paddled down stream, looked for shark's teeth, then back up steam. I did not go because I knew I could not handle the paddle up stream. He flipped the kayak when he hit a log, but did get to see bald eagles.

The couple behind us bought their own kayaks and went out early, the too saw bald eagles and eaglettes, on their way back they saw what looked like eagles walking on the beach. She said it was the neatest thing, watching the parents teaching their young about water. What you miss when arth'r flares up...

Much like the other trip, it rained, but no tornadoes on the way home...

Raymond does not want to go back. I am a lot closer to Hickory Run (Poconos) and Tracy has one going there in the fall also.

Wild Wild Qwest

Paula,

Actually that trip was 4/02. Westmoreland SP is a great place and has beautiful scenery.

We have this year's get together pencilied in for the weekend of 9/24. We still need to confirm our schedules. It's a long trip for us for a short stay, however we may check in on Thursday. We hope to see many smiling faces...  ;)

We are considering staying at Westmoreland SP for our June trip to VA. How far is it to Mt. Vernon from there? Arlington? Williamsburg?

We want to be out of the way, away from lots of people and we enjoy family biking (not too fast and only about 10-20 miles)

Any bike paths around Westmoreland SP?
