We have a 2001 Coleman Niagara.  About 4 months after the one year warranty ran out, we discovered that the front trunk leaked.  We tried sealing it with silicone, bubble seals, etc.  Still leaks.  I finally figured out why we didn't find the leak in the first year and it was because we had a bad drought that year.

I called Fleetwood in November of last year with my complaint and that I believed that it was a manufacturing problem.  They noted my complaint and told me to take it to my dealer for them to look at.  Before I had just called the dealer.

Well I finally got it to the dealer and they called Fleetwood with the findings after checking it out.  Fleetwood is going to replace the front box and I have to pay freight and labor.  I am very pleased to get anything and just wanted to let everyone know how great they have been.

NCcamper, I also have an 01 Niagara, the FLOPDOWN, that had the same problem with the front storage trunk leaking. Moisture caused the OSB floor to swell up around the side edges and pooch outwards. This caused the bottoms of the side panels to warp and not allow the side access door to seat on it's gasket properly. We got into a bad and long rain storm while travelling and every thing on the right side of the trunk got thoroughly soaked. Water also ran back into the camper soaking the carpet.....

After an inspection by my dealer,Tom Johnson, it was covered under Fleetwood's warranty and I thought they would just replace the flooring and perhaps the side panels. Instead, they replaced the whole storage box, complete with all hardware, lights and wiring...I would have to to pay the freight $143.00 and the installation, which was estimated to be around $450.00. The shower and left side converter cabinet would have to be removed in order to gain access to the storage trunk's side mounting fastenings.  At that time, I was doing a complete interior remodeling job and all of the cabinets including the shower were stripped out, to be replaced by my own custom built ones....This made it very easy to get to the trunk's side fastenings, so I decided to install the new one myself...I removed the old trunk and installed  the new one by my self, in about three hours.....

Before installing the new trunk, I removed it's floor and applied three coates of urethane varnish to the bottom and edges. This will surely help to prevent the swelling from happening again.....

If you have any questions, please let me know........

That is the same thing that is happening to me.  The side door would not seal because of being bowed out.  My husband and I are not mechanically inclined so we are letting Tom Johnson take care of replacing the trunk.  They have been the best people to work with.  We will have to pay the freight and labor, but getting it done right is our main concern.

NC camper, I have always found Tom Johnson in Marion to be fair and square in my dealings with them. If I buy another camper, it will certainly be from them......Fleetwood has also taken care of the few warranty items I have had without any problems............
