Friends,
We have a wonderful opportunity to get out to Texas to see the spring wild flowers this April. We plan to get into Big Bend National Park for a week, and then to Kerrville-Fredericksberg for another week. Anyone have some great recommendations for campgrounds in those areas? We are Minnesotans not used to the sun, and have just a little popup with no a/c so it is probably vital we find shaded sites. We would love showers and electricity if possible, though we can live without electricity. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...and anything else in those areas we need to see, please let us know!

I would take a look at the State Parks in the area.  Garner SP, Lost Maples SP, or Kerrville-Schreiner park (was a SP but now operated by the city of Kerrville).  Each of these parks are great parks.  Look at the Texas Parks and Wildlife website to get the details on these parks and others in the areas you will be staying.  http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/

You are coming down in a great time of year to see the wildflowers,  enjoy!
