Been tryin' to camp for 9 months now... every time we tried, a Charley,or Francis, or Jeanne would pay us a visit !   So, we have been excited about Daytona next week, but after setiing up pop up today after all this time, no blower in a/c or heat mode.  Just a hum on all speeds.  Camper stays in garage by the way.  Any thoughts ?   Much thanks

The most common causes are insufficient voltage or a blown starter capacitor. CHeck the line voltage. Should be a minimum of 108 when the compressor is trying to start.

Although not the likely cause, but somewhat related to Mike's reply, I once had a window unit on a small travel trailer that occasionally needed a little "help" getting started. I could move the fan with a stick, or my finger if the cover was off, and it would start running. Like Mike said, if the voltage is too low, it won't start. My problem was old, dirty, rusty unit, which is likely to be UNlike yours.

first guess would be the capacitor or capacitor-related like Mike said. Take the cover off the A/C and try it. There may be some contact with the shroud that would keep the fan from turning. If this doesn't work, try giving it a spin to see it it "catches" and runs on its own. The capacitor value is *very* important and should be replaced only with the same value.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help everyone.  RV tech onlinr told me to spin the fan while switch is on and see if motor starts... yes means bad capacitor...no and fan motor is shot.  It worked so now I know I have bad fan cap, but there are three inside access panel...which one ?  And where do I go to get one ?  Thanks again...  gotta love this board.........

Probably the best way to find the capacitor is to trace the wires leaving the motor (most likely, the cap wires are both the same color) and see which one they go to. Not sure why there are three caps though, I can see one for the motor and one for the compressor. Is there a wiring diagram for the A/C? That should give you the value for the capacitor (in microfarads uf ) and maybe you can figure out which one it is from that.

If you get a cap that is not the same physical size, don't get too upset. As long as it's the same value and voltage (lol, and fits in the space), it should be fine.

Problem solved !!  Thanks guys... It was the fan cap.  Ordered from local rv dealer for 20 bucks and snapped in in myself.  Very happy and off to Daytona in a week !!!!!!!!!

Glad it was a simple fix and I'm jealous as he!! about Daytona.
